1.  Do you like reading?
I love to read. My parents used to punish me by telling me I couldn't read - I was a dork.

2.  How often do you read?
I don't read every day or even every week. It takes me awhile to find books that I can really get into plus I have to feel like I have the time to really sit down and read.

3.  Do you have any book goals set for yourself?
Nope.

4.  What is your favorite book of all time?

Harry Potter...the whole series I cannot pick just one.

5.  What is your favorite book into movie?
That's a hard one. I think I will say The Wizard of Oz because I didn't like the book at all but it's one of my favorite movies :)

6.  What book would you like to see made into a movie/show?
I don't usually like it when my favorite books are made into movies because they are usually ruined.

7.  Are you currently reading anything right now?

Beside what I am reading for school? No.

8.  What is it about?

9.  Would you recommend it?

10.  What are you planning to read next?
I have no idea.

1.  Do you like reading?
Yes

2.  How often do you read?
Not as often as I'd like. I go through spurts.

3.  Do you have any book goals set for yourself?
Nope

4.  What is your favorite book of all time?
I don't think I have a favorite

5.  What is your favorite book into movie?
Hopefully it'll be HG

6.  What book would you like to see made into a movie/show?
The last book I read was 'Divergent' which I thought was really good.  So I'll go with that.

7.  Are you currently reading anything right now?
I read the first 2 pages of 'Into Thin Air' but haven't had time to pick it back up

8.  What is it about?
People dying on Mount Everest as a result of a freak storm (I think?)

9.  Would you recommend it?
I'll have to get back to you.  Beth said it was good but the end made her sick I believe haha

10.  What are you planning to read next?
Not sure

1.  Do you like reading?
Yes.

2.  How often do you read?
I usually read one book per week.

3.  Do you have any book goals set for yourself?
Not really.

4.  What is your favorite book of all time?
The Dark Tower by Stephen King. I love the whole series, but the last book is so fantastic.

5.  What is your favorite book into movie?
The Stand. Also by Stephen King. Haha. I love Molly Ringwald.

6.  What book would you like to see made into a movie/show?
I don't really have one.

7.  Are you currently reading anything right now?
I'm reading Wolves of the Calla by Stephen King. Notice a pattern? Haha. I really do read other books, but I haven't gotten any new books lately, so I'm re-reading my favorites.

8.  What is it about?
It's part 5 in the Dark Tower series. It's hard to explain if you haven't read the other 4.

9.  Would you recommend it?
Of course.

10.  What are you planning to read next?
Song of Susannah. It's the 6th book in the series.

1.  Do you like reading?
Love it! I'm a total book whore.

2.  How often do you read?
Every damn day. At least an hour.

3.  Do you have any book goals set for yourself?
Try not to spend too much money on them.

4.  What is your favorite book of all time?
Impossible to pick just one, so I'll list a couple. The Name of the Wind, A Hat Full of Sky, HP of course, And Then There Were None, P&P of course, The Time Traveler's Wife, HG series, Battle Royale, American Gods, Rebecca, The Beekeeper's Apprentice, The Last Kashmiri Rose...I could go on and on.

5.  What is your favorite book into movie?
The HP movies!

6.  What book would you like to see made into a movie/show?
I'm super excited about Hunger Games

7.  Are you currently reading anything right now?
I'm reading several books on babies/pregnancy/childbirth, as well as River Marked by Patricia Briggs

8.  What is it about?
It's an urban fantasy about a woman who can turn into a coyote. It's part of a series. This one has to do with the main character getting to know more about her father and her American Indian roots through mysterious river creatures attacking people. She's also on her honeymoon with her werewolf husband. UF as a genre is not for everyone, but I enjoy it. :)

9.  Would you recommend it?
Yup

10.  What are you planning to read next?
I actually keep a list on goodreads and in my amazon cart. Right now, I have a couple Georgette Heyer novels waiting, as well as a few natural childbirth books I'm trying to decide between, and of course I keep an eye out for the latest books from my favorite authors, including Kate Morton, Sarah Addison Allen, Jim Butcher, Patricia Briggs, and a few other romance and UF writers.

1.  Do you like reading?
Love it.

2.  How often do you read?

Usually every night before bed.

3.  Do you have any book goals set for yourself?
No. To me reading is like TV--pure entertainment.

4.  What is your favorite book of all time?

This is a tough one. Going by the number of times I've read any one book, I'd say "Wings of the Falcon" by Barbara Michaels.

5.  What is your favorite book into movie?

Harry Potter. Also "The Hunt for Red October."

6.  What book would you like to see made into a movie/show?
I'd love to see the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series (by Laurell K. Hamilton) made into movies, but just the first few books, before they devolved into porn. But it can't be like True Blood. I love the Sookie Stackhouse books but can't watch True Blood.

Elizabeth Peters' Vicky Bliss series would also make great movies. (By the way, Elizabeth Peters is also Barbara Michaels--see above.)

7.  Are you currently reading anything right now?
"Ghoul Interrupted" by Victoria Laurie

8.  What is it about?
The series is about a female ghost hunter. They're cute, fluffy, and only a little scary. In this one, M.J. tries to defeat the demon killing members of her boyfriend's family.

9.  Would you recommend it?

I'm not very far in, but I've liked the others in this series.

10.  What are you planning to read next?
Dunno. I like to peruse the Kindle freebies. Also, after refreshing myself on Vicky Bliss, I see a new one came out in 2008 (the last one was in 1995).

1.  Do you like reading? Yes. My parents used to punish me too by taking my books away or not letting me read.

2.  How often do you read? Not as often as I used to. I used to read every day before bed, but now that I live with my bf I only read on the nights we don't go to bed together. I don't like reading "fun books" sitting up. I can't get into them. I can really only read "fun books" lying in bed. Textbooks though (which can be interesting/fun to read but are not "fun books") I cannot read in bed.

3.  Do you have any book goals set for yourself? I want to have read over 1000 books. I'm pretty sure I'm there, but I just recently started keeping track.

4.  What is your favorite book of all time? Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George.

5.  What is your favorite book into movie? Gone with the Wind, even though they cut so much out. But apparently it would have been like a 50 some odd hour movie if they didn't cut as much as they did. As it is, it's still a long movie.

6.  What book would you like to see made into a movie/show? I can't think of one

7.  Are you currently reading anything right now? Well a management textbook. Also, Windfall by Penny Vincenzi, which is what the rest of my answers will be based on.

8.  What is it about? It's set in the 1920's about a woman in a middle class family who's godmother leaves her a ton of money and how that affects her.

9.  Would you recommend it? Yes, if you like fluff and romance novels.

10.  What are you planning to read next? I haven't decided yet.

I always forget to answer my own questions....

1.  Do you like reading?
Yes

2.  How often do you read?
Almost daily now.  I've been reading a lot more since I got my Kindle for Christmas, it's so convenient.

3.  Do you have any book goals set for yourself?
Yeah, I'm trying to read 52 books this year (one a week)

4.  What is your favorite book of all time?
Probably Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.  I love the story and the writing.

5.  What is your favorite book into movie?
I have high hopes for HG, but currently, I liked 'Holes'.  I read it in jr high and it was a fun story then and the movie was really close.

6.  What book would you like to see made into a movie/show?
I'd like to say Outlander, because I'd love to see the story come to life, but at the same time, it's too long (especially as a series of books) and I really don't think they could cast the characters as I've imagined them.

7.  Are you currently reading anything right now?
I'm reading Voyager, which is the 3rd book in the Outlander series

8.  What is it about?
Well the series as a whole is about an English woman who time travelled from 1945 to 1743 Scottland and then was forced to marry a young Scottish man to avoid conflict, ended up falling in love with him, and then their whole saga of their relationship while trying to prevent things she knew about and then dealing with new stuff.  The 3rd book picks up on that general story after they'd been separated for 20 years and are tyring to reestablish their lives together.

9.  Would you recommend it?
Absolutely.  All the books are ridiculously long (all right around 1,000 pages), but it's a really well-written story with great characters.  It's a really beautiful blending of a lot of different genres too.

10.  What are you planning to read next?
I'm not sure yet, but I like to take a break between the Outlander books just because they are so long, that I need a mental break and a quick read before committing to the next book.

1.  Do you like reading?

Love it!  I like Beth was punished by my parents by loosing reading privileges.  It didn’t work very well because I owned so many books!

2.  How often do you read?

Since school started I read a lot less.  Also depends on if I have book that I am really into, every day in that case.  3-4 times a week otherwise.

3.  Do you have any book goals set for yourself?

Not really.  I tried once but I just can’t put books away like I use too so it was depressing

4.  What is your favorite book of all time?

I have too many.

5.  What is your favorite book into movie?

NO!  I hate books that go into movies!  Almost always ruins them!  HATE IT!  (Except for LToR because those movies turned out pretty good.  HOBBIT!!!! )

6.  What book would you like to see made into a movie/show?

None.

7.  Are you currently reading anything right now?

Yes.  A kids book.  Mattimeo by Brian Jacques.  I love kids books.

8.  What is it about?

Animals that can talk fighting off other evil animals that have stolen their children for slaves

9.  Would you recommend it?

Oh yes I love the whole series!

10.  What are you planning to read next?

The next G.R. Martin books.  I don’t know what it is called but I have taken a sufficient break from the books and would like to read the next one.

Usually I agree the book is better than the movie. "The Hunt for Red October" is my exception. The novel gets really bogged down in Navy technical details that went over my head when I read the book in junior high. I'm sure someone who's into that stuff would really love the book, though.

Ooooh, Leia, I love me some Elizabeth Peters AND Barbara Michaels. I should re-read some of those! It's been a long time since I read the Vicky Bliss books -- long enough that I don't think I've read the one from 2008.

Jem, have you read The Winter Sea? It's similar to Outlander. Both are so good in their own way, but just thought I'd suggest it since if you like one, it seems to me like you'd like both.

The Winter Sea SHOULD be on my list of favorites above. :)

Leia - I also love the Sookie Stackhouse books, but I still love True Blood too.  I think I almost kind of like that they aren't following the books anymore because then the show is still new to me.  I love the characters, so it's kind of fun seeing things go a little differently than the books.  Of course, I don't love all of the changes, but as a whole, I still love the series.

I'm guessing you've read Amelia Peabody, then. I think Children of the Storm was the last one I read. I always loved that they were written by an actual Egyptologist.

Agree!

I really enjoy historical mysteries.

Have you read Christies' Death in Egypt? It's fun, esp if you've read any AP mysteries.

I also really liked The Last Kashmiri Rose. Highly recommended.

Raven, there's an entire series by Elizabeth Peters (who has a Ph.D. in Egyptology). They feature Amelia Peabody, a British female archeologist, and start in the 1880s.

The first book is Crocodile on the Sandbank.

I'm too ashamed to answer this poll because the last several books I've read (including the one I'm going to finish today) have been YA books.  I'm such a sucker for YA.

I like YA, too. But if it'll make you feel better, I'll admit to having consumed a large amount of fanfic in the last two weeks.

If it won't make you feel better, I will deny everything I just wrote.  ;)

1.  Do you like reading? I love reading.  Growing up I wouldn't go anywhere without a book in hand.  Even know I feel the need to bring my e-reader just in case I have a chance to use it.

2.  How often do you read? Lately not as much but I try to read a bit every day.  I'm content to sit for hours reading.

3.  Do you have any book goals set for yourself?  No. I read pretty fast but I've never actually set a goal of "I must read x number of books by x date" or anything.  Right now my goal is to not buy any other books until I've finished the 6 I've got laying around from the holidays.

4.  What is your favorite book of all time?  Harry Potter.  Specifically #3 and #7.

5.  What is your favorite book into movie?  Probably LOTR.

6.  What book would you like to see made into a movie/show? Right now...no.  HP is done, LOTR is done, HG is coming out very soon.  I'm looking forward to seeing more Game of Thrones :)

7.  Are you currently reading anything right now? Storm of Swords (Song of Ice and Fire series, aka Game of Thrones) by George R.R. Martin.  I'm in love with this series.

8.  What is it about?  I honestly have no idea how to even begin.  Fantasy-like world, different families competing for the throne, pure awesomeness really.  I'm terrible at describing books.  Someone help me.

9.  Would you recommend it?  Highly recommend.  Especially if you are a fan of the show and haven't read the books yet.  They do an amazing job sticking to the books, with a few small exceptions of course.

10.  What are you planning to read next? Probably the next book in that series.  Although I do have the new Jodi Picoult sitting next to me, as well as the new Diana Gabaldon book.  So any of those.

I'm too ashamed to answer this poll because the last several books I've read (including the one I'm going to finish today) have been YA books.  I'm such a sucker for YA.

I said I have too many favorite books because a lot of them are YA or middle school readers.... ya I kow your pain ;)

7.  Are you currently reading anything right now? I'm reading Voyager, which is the 3rd book in the Outlander series 8.

I absolutely loved those books.  It drives me nuts having to wait so long for the next one.  I started them when #5 (Fiery Cross) came out and I've been hooked every since.

In Response to Re: What are you reading? (and a poll) : I like YA, too. But if it'll make you feel better, I'll admit to having consumed a large amount of fanfic in the last two weeks. If it won't make you feel better, I will deny everything I just wrote.  ;)

Hehehe.  I've read my fair share of fanfic in my life.  I had to fill the gaps between HP books with something, after all.  I never read any other fanfic, though.

And I definitely never wrote any.  Nope.  Never.

In Response to Re: What are you reading? (and a poll) : Raven, there's an entire series by Elizabeth Peters (who has a Ph.D. in Egyptology). They feature Amelia Peabody, a British female archeologist, and start in the 1880s. http://www.ameliapeabody.com/ The first book is Crocodile on the Sandbank.

1.  Do you like reading?
Nope.  I love reading.  We've been over this on here before.  It's my lifeblood.  On bad days, reading helps me escape for long enough to try and get myself back together.  It doesn't always work.  But it always helps.

2.  How often do you read?
Now, as often as possible.  I didn't read as much when I was in school.  But now that I don't have homework as reading 24/7, I read more.

3.  Do you have any book goals set for yourself?
1001 Books to Read Before You Die.  I have a Google Doc with a spreadsheet set up.

4.  What is your favorite book of all time?
Of all time?  Honestly, I can't pick.  Recently, I keep coming back to The Awakening by Kate Chopin.

5.  What is your favorite book into movie?
I do not condone this phenomenon.

6.  What book would you like to see made into a movie/show?
I do not condone this.

7.  Are you currently reading anything right now?
Lord of the Rings - I'm about 200 pages from the end of Return of the King.

8.  What is it about?
The Lord of the Rings.

9.  Would you recommend it?
Absolutely.

10.  What are you planning to read next?
The Hobbit.  And then The Pit and the Pendulum by Edgar Allen Poe.

I KNOW.  I read it AGES ago, but as of late, random bits of it keep popping into my head.  It took me like 2 weeks to figure out WTF they were from.
