Has anyone used Wedding Bug Studios photography in Arizona?

I was recently contacted by a company called Wedding Bug about doing the photography for my wedding next June.  I really liked the photos they provided online but have not been able to find reviews on them outside of the ones posted on their website.  Just thought I would ask around to see if anyone had used then in the Phoenix area!

I actually was just contacted by them as well only in Philadelphia.  The woman I talked to, Lynn, was really nice and the prices are unreal.  The only thing about the place that is making me feel weird is that on the site they put that they are #1 with the Knot, have an A rating with the BBB, preferred choice with brides.com, and are etrust certified.  I looked on everything and have not find the company at all.  The BBB basically shows that they do not exist.  I looked it up on Yelp and it actually looks like they are part of the Pros.  I was going to go with them because of the prices but after looking for about three hours straight and not finding anything I don't think I will be using them.  Hope this helps.

I have had the same problem in the Philadelphia area. I am not going to use this company because they're impossible to find. Apparently when they say something is too good to be true (prices...) it is indeed true. Bummer!

What got to me even more is when I called back and asked if I could see some samples of their work, Lynn told me that they don't have a studio that you can go to and view some of their work and that was one of the reasons their prices were so low.  It just kind of sounds like a scam or something to me and I personally do not feel comfortable with the company at all.  But if you're looking for photographers in the area I can give you a couple of suggestions that people I know have used and were happy with.

THIS MAKES ME SAD... I WAS SO EXCITED TO HAVE FOUND THEM BUT I HAD A LITTLE BIT OF SKEPTICISM. I LIVE IN FLORIDA AND I CONTACTED A LADY BY EMAIL WHO GAVE ME THE WHOLE BREAKDOWN OF THE PACKAGE AND PAYMENT TO LOCK DOWN MY DATE. NOW I AM SCARED TO GO THROUGH IT SINCE I DO NOT SEE IT ADVERTISED ON THE KNOT. I DON'T WANT TO GET SCAMMED. AND NOW IM NEVER GOING TO FIND A PHOTOGRAPHER IN MY BUDGET.

I have used Wedding bug Studios for my Aug 6th wedding.  I too was a little leary at first but I spoke with Nickie(?) who helped me along the way.  My original photographer cancelled and I had a week to find a new one.  Their website was nice and the pictures were awesome so I called.  I questioned why there was ZERO information on them on theknot and bbb. I mean they had their little logos in the corner, somethings not right.  But nickie explained that they are apart of The Pros, sister or parent company. and directed me to thier information.  I knew this company was legit after I read that information.  You will notice too that their addresses are the same.  Needless to say..my wedding photos came out beautifully and I am so blessed to have found them  I hope you guys take my personal experience and use it for your own!  :)

i also am looking into this company for a photography and videography package.....I am also in AZ and I could not be more excited about the prices.....it is exactly what i am looking for.  The pics on their website look nice but i am unable to view their videography portfolio, and that is the most important part for me. My wedding is
Dec. 2, 2012.....i got a little weirded out when they told me their prices will be going up 10/1 of this year.  Which leaves me just a few days to make a decision of putting the $150 down to reserve the prices.....ummm, any suggestions?

I am in Maryland, and I just called today and I was told the same thing. I just spent an hour looking up information on this company. Like you, I just don't get a good feeling especially when they advertise that they are a "Brides Choice" Award winner and they are not listed. I will call "the PROS" tomorrow to see if they are associated with this company. I don't want to miss this opportunity. However, a wedding is a play not a movie -there are no do overs...

So glad I searched this before booking them. I was just contacted by Wedding Bug about my wedding in Colorado. The prices are tempting, but I want to make sure I have a photographer I can trust. I don't know that saving a few hundred dollars is worth the risk. Thanks to everyone for sharing.

If they are indeed assciated with The Pros DO NOT USE THEM. I researched the pros and the company is awful. More than half the reviews basically say the company screwed them over. Look up The Pros on weddingwire.
  • oh no im so upset! I am on a tight budget and was so excited to see this but i have an amazing photographer i just wanted simple videography, did anyone  use them for that??

    RIWatts:

Since your wedding was just last month and I'm having a similar dilemma with Wedding Bug I wanted to ask: did you end up using them? If so, how were they?

  • As a wedding planner, I have to abide by my client's wishes.  If someone wants to book a company like this, that is their choice.  I can only warn that if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
I've worked with The Pros.  They book for a set number of hours.  I had one bride who ended up with no photos of the cake cutting because it was past the set number of hours.  If the photographer hadn't seen me, no one would have known she was leaving.
Also, with the price, there is probably no color correction done to the photos.
I would spend the extra money for a legitimate photographer.
  • I used Wedding Bug On June 2nd 2012 for my wedding in NC. I was happy with the photographer and was looking forward to seeing her photo's. After SIX weeks of waiting I got the disk with photos and it was posted online for me to review. There were only 281 duplicates so more like 140 photos. I have very few great photos to choose from now. I called and spoke with the director Scott several times he was very unapologetic and made a lot of excuses. I just wanted more of my photos like the wedsite promises!! Still no more photos and no one is calling me back, I'm very unhappy and many amazing moments were lost!!!
  • Awful!  Don't trust them!  I used them for my wedding and it was HORRIBLE. The photographer cut off everyone's heads, INCLUDING my husbands, IN THE CEREMONY AND FORMAL PHOTOS.  They are all rude, all inexperienced and awful!  You get what you pay for and this was a last minute mistake for me!

  • I put down a deposit and called to get it back after reading all the bad reviews. After 2weeks of calling and emails I got ahold if them. I was told I cannot get my deposit back even though, I have just realized, that I never signed a contract. How did any of you go about getting your deposit back?
  • We already have a great photog for our wedding next spring, and yet I've been getting these e-mails from Wedding Bug.  I don't know them, never signed up with them, never talked to them, and yet they would not stop sending me e-mails.  I opt out the first time I got the e-mail, but they still keep sending it to me.
In my honest opinion,  I don't trust anyone who openly spam you about their services when you never wanted to contact them in the first place.  If you are as good as you claim, I'd contact you even if you don't say a word to me.
