Do your parents expect them? Do they expect them to be fancy? Will you have rights to photos to make your own?

My parents don't expect an album, wouldn't expect it to be fancy, and we get the copyrights to all our photos. We're making albums on shutterfly as gift, for fun.

Ditto the PP--my photog's albums were too expensive so I just made my own on Blurb for $50. However, you will be getting a much better quality album from your photographer so it's up to you to decide which is the better deal. With coupon codes, specials, etc., you can make them even cheaper than what I did--but they won't be as high quality as the one your photographer provides.
