Dress Shopping Tips?

Happy New Year Ladies!!  I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday.  I am going to start dress shopping this month.  I was wondering if anyone had any tips or pointers.  Items to bring?  Questions to ask?  I am a bit nervous after reading the posts/reviews.  It seems a consultant can really make or break the experience.

Thanks!

Don't bring too many people with you, or you will have too many opinions.  It is really up to what you like.  I brought two people with me and that worked out great.

If you have a bra or spanks that you want to wear bring them with you.  Also remember that the consultant will helping you into the dresses so wear underwear you are comfortable with them seeing.

    Take a camera with you.

Let the consultant know what you like and dislike about the dress you have on.  It will help them find something that you will like.

Don't be afraid to try something on that you don't think you like.  I went into dress shopping sure that I wasn't getting a dress with lace because they all looked like table clothes..... and go figure I ended up getting a dress with lace.

    Have fun!

Wear a strapless bra, bring the camera.   Don't try too many in one day, it gets overwhelming.

you got great advice here!  My only thing to add is don't let yourself feel pressured into making a choice that day.  I loved my dress, but I definitely wanted to take a few days and then re-visit it before making a decision.  A good consultant will not push you into a sale before you are ready.

    have fun shopping!

I agree with everything but, also want to mention not to be afraid to speak up when you don't like something. Your sales person is trying to find something that you'll like--it won't (or shouldn't) hurt her feelings when she pulls something that you don't like.

    Happy shopping!!

Don't bring a lot of people. I had like 8 people and I became overwhelmed.  Also, you will be getting dressed in front of your consultant. Wear comfortable underwear.
