Hello Knotties!

I don't see a specific thread for introductions, so I thought I would start one. (Hope that alright?) I will get the ball rolling!

My name is Emily, I am a freshman at the University of Californa, Davis. I am working on a BA in Anthropology with a specialization on Archaeology. I am 19 years old, and got engaged in December 2011 to the love of my life and my other half.

My fiance's name is Kevin, a freshman at Sierra Community College (with intentions to transfer to UC Davis as a junior) majoring in Video Game Design. He is 18 years old. We have been dating for nearly five years-- we are high-school sweethearts.

We plan on waiting until we graduate and are financially stable to get married, but are making plans and starting to save money now.

Hello! I like this idea.

I'm Gabrielle, I'm a first year developmental psychology graduate student. FI is also a psychology grad student. We're planning on getting married in 2 years, because we'll both have masters degrees, and he will be doing retroactive coursework, so he can apply to medical school (a late decision). I'm 21 and he's 24.

We're beginning to dabble in planning seriously, and have chosen our date and venue, but school is a priority for us. My FI and I are both serious nerds (we met at our school's Dungeons and Dragons club) but you wouldn't know it from looking, so we're honoring our nerd heritage with medieval touches throughout the wedding.

July 2013 April Sig: Why did you choose July? Because the days are so long!

Hi!

My name is Stacey and I have a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences and now am in my second year of school to become a Podiatrist. My fiance has his Bachelor's degree in Marketing Management and we met during university. He has been in the military for over 6 years now and after graduation was stationed on the East Coast. So we are now in a long distance relationship until December of this year when I am able to move there to do the last portion of my placement.

We have been engaged since July 2011 and our date is December 28. We decided to get married while I was still in school, but when we would officially be able to move into our house together. It is tough balancing planning between school and trying to coordinate when he is in the same province as me, but it is definitely keeping me motivated!!

Hey everyone!

I'm Melanie, and I am actually not a student anymore! I just graduated in December with my BA in English from a small college in Maryland. I have just applied to masters programs in the D.C. area and am eagerly waiting to hear back :) Oh, and I'm 21!

My FI is Steven, who will be 22 in less than a month. He just enlisted in the Army and will leave for basic in a couple of months. Like Gabrielle76, we are TOTAL nerds (we just went to our usual D&D game last night and have another one on Monday!) and will definitely have some tribute to our comic book love at our wedding, which will be in 2013 or 2014. We have been together for 5 years.

I haven't seen one of these threads in quite a while.

I'm Tyler (yes, I'm a girl named Tyler) and I am a fourth year veterinary student. I will graduate in May with my DVM so I'm just starting the job hunt. Perhaps scheduling the wedding 2 weeks after graduation was a little crazy...

My fiance's name is Jeff and he is a pilot for Compass Airlines. We met in high school and have been together since 2001. We were engaged in 2010 and our wedding is June 2. We haven't lived in the same state since we both left for undergrad in 2003 and I'm ridiculously excited to be done with this whole long-distance relationship thing!

Happy to get to know all of you a bit better!

I'm happy to see there are other nerds out there! Yay for birdie1020 and Gabrielle76 for being fellow Dungeons and Dragons players! I play tabletop with my finacee and our friends at least once a week. :)

But I'm supposed to introduce myself!

I'm Alyssa and my fiancee is Matthew. I will be 21 in February and I was proposed to this last December 10th of 2011 after Matthew and I had been dating for 3 years and 8 months. My fiancee is just 8 months older than I, so he is currently 21. He graduates this Spring semester with his Bachelor's in Chemistry. I have an extra year to go before I graduate with a Bachelor's in Humanities.

We don't plan to marry till after I graduate in 2013, so we can get our education and careers rolling in the right direction before we make any rash decisons. :) Matthew will be going to graduate school in Arkansas after he graduates and has picked up an intership with the chemistry department at the University of Arkansas, and will be paid to do research with them. :) I'm so proud of him.

We became long distance in 2008 and are temporarily not long distance now that I'm back in CA while I job search. Then we'll be long distance again in a couple more months, and will probably continue to be long distance until we get married.

Hi all ;) My name is Hannah, I'm 20 years young, a junior in college, and just applied to nursing school. FI and I have been together since high school. We've been engaged since December 24 2010, but are waiting until I finish my undergraduate degree to get married. My FI, Zach, is 19 years old (but almost 20 haha). He is a cop and a Marine reservist. He isn't in school right now because he is anticipating deployment in the semi-near future. He hopes/plans to work for the DEA in the future though.

Skype is the bane of my existence! But only because my college had really slow internet, so the video was always really jerky and the audio was always delayed, but he loved being able to see me, so I would always try and put up with it.

Hi Girls! My name is Faith and I'm 21. I am studying Secondary Social Studies Education and this is my last semester of classes!! Then, I'm off to student teach in the Fall and graduate in December-- I cannot wait! I plan on getting my Master's in Reading Education eventually!

My FI is Max and he is 23. He graduated in 2010 with a degree and political science and now works as a salaried drone in an office-- he hates it but it pays the bills! He hopes to become a teacher and is working on getting certified now!

We are high school sweethearts and will be getting married on our 7 year anniversary!! We are tying the knot at Disney World, FL and cannot wait!

Hey ladies!!

My name is Kirstie and I'm 22 (almost 23 - almost a month until my birthday! :] ). I'm a graduate student working on a master's in education with a concentration in social studies. I start my student teaching in a 7th grade classroom in two weeks and graduate in May. I got my BA this past May with a degree in anth, with a focus on biological anthropoloy.

My FI's name is Steven and basically the entirely top paragraph is true for him too, lol - the only difference being that he doesn't turn 23 until March. We met during undergrad - during freshman orientation, actually - as we lived on the same floor and had chosen many of the same classes. We ended up being the same major, too, and the rest is history, lol.

Glad to see other nerds! As I write this, FI is sitting next to me playing SWTOR and after I go grab my tea I'll be logging into WoW. Any other WoW players? Like Gabrielle we're both stealth nerds (we were nerds and a varsity athlete/a cheerleader, what a weirdo combo) and will likely not incorporate that love into our wedding ... we're saving the comic book nerdiness for naming out children *evil laughter*

I never really got into Skype since it wasn't around when I was in college (the more I read the ages on this thread, the older I feel!!) and I didn't have a computer with a webcam until a few years ago. FI currently lives in a pretty rural area so his phone drops calls whenever it switches to using a different cell tower. It's usually ok if he is not driving, but you never know. It's usually during the important conversations, too!

Well, my kids won't be able to complain ... FI, by sheer accident, shares the name of a well-known superhero already, so my kids won't be alone! :) I'd like a little literary nerdiness myself, but I think anything Tolkienesque is a little harder for a kid to play off than an homage to a comic book character. ;)

I'm excited to get to know everyone!

I'm Cara! I'm 19 going on 20 in May. I'm a student in paralegal studies and I will graduate in May 2013! So excited!

FI's (we just got engaged about a month ago, yay!) name is Billy and he's 22. He is studying computer science and should graduate by May 2014!

We are planning on an April 2014 wedding if all goes as planned. That way I will have time to secure a job and work for awhile and FI will only be a month from graduating. So my wedding is about 2 years out but I couldn't be more excited!

Faith - does your FI know they're rereleasing all 6 SW movies in 3D in theatres?? First one (well, Episode 1, lol) comes out Feb. 10.

HI! Im Amy and I am studying graphic design and my FI is studying nursing. We will both be turning 23 in May and June. We have been dating for almost three years, got engaged Dec 23rd, and will be getting married in June of 2013. :)

I'm Michelle, 20 year old Creative Writing Major with a minor in Editing and Publishing, i hope to be a copyeditor somewhere haha. My fiance is Clayton he's 20 as well and is a major in Graphic Design (top of his class woo!) Weve been engaged since October 31 2010 and we'll be getting married (wedding or not!) after we've graduated on August 31, 2014 -the four year anniversary of the day we met. He's from out by our University in central PA and I"m from North/Centralish New Jersey four hours away. Skype is awful, we prefer ovoo :)

FI, by sheer accident, shares the name of a well-known superhero already, so my kids won't be alone! :) I'd like a little literary nerdiness myself, but I think anything Tolkienesque is a little harder for a kid to play off than an homage to a comic book character. ;)

Hahaha, yeaa, I don't think our parents would let us use any Tolkien names. They looked at me funny while we were watching LOTR the other day and I mentioned that FI already has Gandalf's sword hanging in his room and we plan on getting all the other swords and hanging them in our future home!

And Bay21 - I did a concentration in creative writing during my undergrad, and interned as a copy editor!

I actually interned at the Office of Publications and Media Relations at my college. It was a really great experience! I actually just got an email for interviewing at a position that is very similar to what I did in this internship, so send lots of good Knottie vibes my way!!

I'm Mary and my fiance's name is Isaac. I am a computer science major and he is a youth ministry major. I'm 19 and he is 20. We plan on getting married in Dec 2013 when I graduate. Hi ladies! My name is Kayla and I'm 22 years old. I just graduated in May with a B.A. in Religious Studies and Political Science and a Master's in Bioethics. My FI, Stephen, who is 23, has a B.S. in Physics and Biochemistry. We met freshman year of college and have been dating for almost four years. We're living in England for a year, working on getting Masters degrees. He's getting an MPhil in Medical Physics and I'm getting an M.A. in Islamic History. We'll be coming back to the States next year to work on our PhDs. We're not nerds, but definitely love learing! We just got engaged on 1/2/12. I'm really into numbers, so I absolutely love the date! We're getting married in May 2015 after he's finished taking classes and starts working in the lab.

Woo hoo, I came just in time :) School actually just started for me today, so I thought I'd jump on board. I am in my junior year in my studies for BBA in Marketing at SHSU in Texas. I already work in my field of study, so it has taken me quite some time to finish up, as I don't want to compromise my job (which I love!).

Fi is 30 and I'm 25 and we've been engaged since 11/26/2010. We have been together for 5 years now and we have a dobe named Meela. :)

I'm actually getting married March 10, 2012 (EEK it's right around the corner).

I look forward to getting to know you guys!

I'm Alyssa, my fiance is Kyle. We live in Illinois, right next to St. Louis. We spend a lot of time at his mom's farm, where he grew up. We hope to have our own ranch one day and he is wanting to be a rodeo stock contractor, but also wants to join the army right after we get married in July. He works for a local towing company, and I work at the local YMCA. Neither of us are currently in school.

It's good to get to know everyone, espically since I'm probably the newbie on this board!
