We are eloping to Hawaii, and our families are very supportive. I would like to reference them or symbolically include them somehow in the ceremony. Any ideas?

Also, how should our 'greeting' begin? I think it would be wierd to use the "we are gathered here today..." since we don't have an audience. Any ideas on this would help too!

Symbolically lighting a candle could help you feel more warmth in your ceremony to remember your family. As for the greeting, the officiant could say "here you stand, two people very much in love, to be joined in holy matrimony"
