Wedding Invitations & Paper

First Draft

I've been working all afternoon on a potential invitation.
So what do ya think? Spacing look ok? Typos? Hows the flow?

P.S. Disregard the outer doted line.

Re: First Draft

  • If you are not using titles for your parents, the woman's name should go before the man's.  So Judy and Reza Smith, Tina and Patrick Jones.

I don't think you need to capitalize two thousand and eleven

  • Corrected:

    Judy and Reza LastName
    together with
    Tina and Patrick LastName
invite you to share in the joy
    of the marriage between
    Jessica L Lastname
    and
    Alex A LastName
    Saturday, the eleventh of June
    two thousand and eleven
at half after four (iin the afternoon)
    Ceremony Site
    Ceremony Address
    Ceremony Address Cont
    Reception immediately following

I switched the parents' names, put the bride before the goom, took out the "on" before Saturday, the year should be lower-case, and it should be half after four.

  • Include only town and cermony site.. No address on the invite
  • You dont put the address on the invite??

How do people know where to go

  • If there are multiple places with the same name, the address is fine.  No zip code, ever.

However. . . I'm really ok with including the address (no zip) pretty much anytime.  Now a days, we have lots of OOT guests - even just an hour away - and that rule was really from back when everybody knew where the First Baptist Church and the Country Club were located.  It was to keep the invite from getting too wordy and cluttered with info people didn't need.  If they need it, include it.
