Here's my first draft, what do you think??? Also, are you and your fiance putting any sort of parameters on vow writing? Like, how do we make sure that they're about the same length or does it not rea

Here's my first draft, what do you think???

Also, are you and your fiance putting any sort of parameters on vow writing? Like, how do we make sure that they're about the same length or does it not really matter?

It’s amazing to think that exactly 4 years ago, at this exact time, we were sitting outside of Starbucks on our first date. Actually, it’s probably about this time exactly that I texted Sean to tell him that I couldn’t make our dinner plans. Sorry, Sean, but something suddenly came up.

I knew that after a 5 hour first date, something special was going to happen, but I don’t think I imagined just how special that something would be. There are so many things that I love about you, some are small and minor details, like how you know that when I say I’m not thirsty and don’t want a drink, that really means I’m just going to drink some of your soda or that we have three very distinct definitions of the word cute. Of course, I love the big things, too, like your continued encouragement of every dream that I’ve ever mentioned and the way that you always go out of your way to help people.

As I began thinking about our relationship and what I wanted to say to you today, I kept thinking going back to a fairly cliché biblical verse. I realize quoting the New Testament isn’t the most appropriate in our Jewish wedding ceremony; so instead, I will be quoting “A Walk to Remember,” one of Mandy Moore’s finest performances. I suppose I should also add that I love that you accept my obsession with movies set in high schools and aimed at pre-teens. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” While I think that’s a beautiful quote, I don’t believe it defines love. I believe it defines you. You are the most patient and kindest person that I have ever met, you keep me calm, and show me so much love and respect every day. You have taught me to laugh at myself more, not to take myself too seriously, and I really am working on becoming more patient. Fortunately, I have the rest of my life to follow your example and I’m sure I’ll get there eventually.

So, today, I stand before you vowing to love and respect you as my partner, confidant, and best friend until the end of my days.  As I place this ring on your finger, wear it, think of me, and know that I love you.

Umm...these are long. However, if you are happy with them-then that is what matters!!

I'm thankful for my big brother!
