Alex, The past 5 years have been the best of my life. You are my best friend and my one true love. We have learned and experienced so much with each other, and I believe that is the reason why we are so strong. You were there for me in times when no one else was. You believed in me in times when I didn’t believe in myself. You have made me laugh in times when all I wanted to do was cry. For all of this I want to say thank you. In return, I promise to be your rock in times of need. I promise to support you in all that you do. I promise to kiss you every day, and never go to bed angry. And most importantly, I promise to love you unconditionally (yes, even during football season), for the rest of our lives. Today marks the beginning of the rest of our life together. I look forward to so many new experiences with you- starting a family, moving into our first house, and maybe even traveling the world together. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. Here’s to many more years together. I love you, forever and ever.

Ok, I love just about the entire thing. I don't know what your relationship is like, but saying "You were there for me when no one else was" in front of all your friends and family kinda feels like your putting them down for turning their back on your or something. That's what it read like to me. Maybe just rephrasing slightly, taking out "when no one else was". It just sounds like you're before a group of people that should have been their for you, but were not.

I agree with scrpio. Sounds like you only had him in time of need. Could read wrong to the audience.

I really enjoy reading all of what your promises are. I can relate to what you are saying within my own relationship!

Maybe you could reword it as "You were there for me when I thought there was no one else to run to." Or "when I thought there was no where else to turn." I know I have felt like that about my FI more times than once. But, it really is beautiful. In the end, it came from your heart and it is for him, a song from your heart meant for his ears.
