Hey ya'll,

I'm searching to find some comfortable, attractive heels to wear in our wedding.  I don't want anything granny looking but I also want something that is comfortable enough to wear standing up for several hours.  I'm not looking for a terribly high heel, just something in the 2 1/2-3" range.  My dress will be ivory but I'm not opposed to wearing a purple heel since that is our main wedding color.

Any suggestions??  I tried a pair of relatively low (2 1/4") Colorifics and honestly I couldn't imagine even wearing them for more than a few minutes.  I love the look of the D'Orsay pumps but again, I can't find any comfy enough.

I also don't want to pay $200+ for these shoes if possible.  Help me out here.  Point me in the right direction.  I have to be the worlds most terrible shopper (I admit it) so any advice will be very welcome.  I don't need any special sizes (I'm like a 7 or 7 1/2) or anything like that.  Just direction

Thanks

You can absolutely find comfortable and attractive heels, especially at only 2 inches. I've worn shoes like this before and found them manageable,. I have wide feet, so it's hard to find some types of pumps without misery. http://www.dsw.com/shoe/kelly+.and.+katie+grace+satin+sandal?prodId=189087&category=dsw12cat1190018

DSW has an entire section of comfortable shoes. I've had a lot of luck with brands like naturalizer. My mom used to only wear those when she had to wear heels all the time, and I always stole them from her in highschool because they were comfortable. They tend to be a bit more conservative looking, but I think you should be able to find some in ivory shades, or at least nude/metallic.

I'm wearing these and they're pretty comfortable (need to be broken in and some pads, but nothing I can't do.)  http://www.dsw.com/shoe/mix+no.+6+barbie+glitter+pump?prodId=dsw12prod3540040&productRef=SEARCH/

I looked at the following ones (its sort of the look I'm going for...) but I'm not sure how comfy they will be.  All of them have pretty good reviews for comfy-ness but again, that is all relative.

Both the above are ivory and I'm looking at the ones below for purple (I'd kind of rather have purple just to add a little kick but I'll get whatever is comfortable)

http://www.shoes.com/en-US/Product/EC1282887-5161542/Ann+Marino/Purple+Satin/Women%27s+Honeybun.aspx (these are a little taller than ideal but I can walk in higher heels, just didn't want to have to! lol)

I've also looked at Butter shoes.  Of course there isn't a store in my area so those are probably out since you can't order online.

These are my shoes - lower heel than you want but they are very comfortable:

I wore a cute pair of heels for the ceremony but to be on the safe side bought a pair of inexpensive white wedged flip flops from VS.  I am so glad I did this because the heels came off faster then you can say "I Do".  And you know what?  Not one person would have seen my heels anyway because the dress always covered my shoes.

My suggestion (from someone who bought 5 different pair of shoes because she couldn't make up her mind) would be to buy something comfortable...don't worry about weather it is a heel, wedge, flat, etc.  Like you said, you will be standing and dancing all night and the last thing you want is hurting feet.

I'm wearing a 2.5 inch heel which I find pretty comfortable over long periods of time. I'm also going to put some Dr. Scholls pads in them and wear them around the house for a few days to make sure they're broken in.

If you're looking for specific brand recommentations, I've heard good things about Butter (and Bridal by Butter) which is available on Endless.com

I'm changing into a pair of custom designed Converse for the reception, I just need something with a little more class for the pictures and actual ceremony (which is why I don't want to spend a fortune, and why I thought purple since I could always wear them again, I wear a lot of purple)

Long url, but these are cute purple sandals by Rampage at Endless.  2.5 inch heel, I atleast, could think of ways to wear them again, and they are under $30.

ETA:  Almost all the shoe and department store webcites let you search by color. I don't know if the above shoes are comfortable, but the price is right.

I've heard great things about Nina shoes and comfort.  There are a ton of really cute styles and they come in every colour under the sun.

These are the shoes I wore for my wedding - they cost $70 (or maybe $80?  I can't remember).  I wore them all day and they were super comfortable - never hurt my feet.  They could also be dyed purple!

Any pair of heels is going to have to be broken in. I wear heels every day for work ranging in height from 2 inches to 5 inches and each pair is incredibly uncomfortable at first, but after being broken in it fits my foot right and i've "learned" to walk in it so it becomes comfortable.

You'll have to gauge for yourself if a shoe is going to end up being comfortable once it is broken in.

I bought my shoes on Amazon.com (cheaper than Zappos) for $92.50. They were $200 in the store and comfortable as hell when I tried them on. Badgley Mischkas rock! Apparently so hard that the price went waay up.

Badgley Mischka makes beautiful low heels that are very comfortable. This site has the Lacie and Salsa that might work for you. They come in many colors but can also have them died purple if you want. They are about $200.

I bought the Lacie in platinum on Zappos. At Zappos at search by height or by d'orsay or both. Hope this helps. Let us know what you decide!
