Sparkling heart

I love my engagement ring. It is a 2 carat heart. The fact that he got it heart shape is what melts me. I wear his heart on my hand. He also bought me  heart shaped swavorski crystal ring. I bought him a 1 carat wedding band to match my actual wedding band. So my engagement ring, wedding band and his band matches.

Re: Sparkling heart

  • Um... congrats...  Are we comparing carat weights? Pix would be better than numbers.

  • Hey genius you can't tell carats through a pic. Hater.
  • Ha, sorry, I was attempting sarcasm but that's near impossible with text on a screen.  What I meant to say and probably should have is the following:

I'm so glad the OP is happy with her rings and her FI's rings.  I do not see the point in comparing carat weights, and to post carat weights on an open forum like this is kind of distasteful.  It's like saying "I have an unlimited budget" which we have also seen from time to time (and usually gets the flames going).  I'd rather see a picture of the "sparkling heart" than see some listing of carat weights on a post, which seems to be bragging.  :-)

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Sparkling heart : Aw, thanks!!  I'm in the Raleigh/Durham area.  I have family down in the Charlotte area and if I had a career down there... I'd SERIOUSLY contemplate moving down there.  The "queen" city as they call it -- and there is a TON of stuff to do there.  Great shopping malls (Concord Mills, Ikea, etc!) and the athletic things too... it's a great combination.  The arts aren't as strong in Charlotte as they are in RDU, but they're still pretty strong compared to smaller metropolitan areas like Greenville (NC).  Charlotte is kind of divided into districts or neighborhoods that all have different names -- my favorite district is Uptown, but my second favorite is Dilworth.  Great place to visit for a city feel, but all the benefits of a smaller town.

<div>Why does it matter where a ring was purchased?  A diamond is a diamond.  The only differences in diamonds are in the Carats, Clarity and Cut... the three C's say NOTHING about where a ring was purchased.  Please don't attempt insult other posters on the board by saying seemingly negative statements like this.  Actually, I'm not personally insulted by your statement.  So what if it is true for some of the PP's or others who lurk.  So WHAT if the ring came from Wal-Mart?  Why do we need to compare with so much materialism in mind?  This makes me sad.  I hope you don't act like this towards real people in real life. </div>

  • So joiner is a troll after all!

Seriously, read the other posts. HAS to be a troll.
  • I'd sell the ring and get some etiquette lessons if I was her.  The diamond is worthless as long as the mouth, and the mind, attached to it are so ugly!

I don't really understand the appeal of a heart shaped ring.  It seems a little unsophisticated.  It also seems a bit tacky to bait people on a message board with talk about carat weight.

I also don't undersand bragging about swarovski crystal.  It's not exactly exclusive.  If you get some Baccarat, you can come back and get snobby with us then.
