I'm just wondering how your decorated at your church or chapel, what you did, how much stuff cost, where you got it from.

I have not decided on these decorations yet. My theme is vintage glam. It's hard because I don't know how much stuff costs so I don't know what good prices are - I'm just starting my research. I have a lot of old canning jars I was thinking of decorating with a nice shiny ribbon and putting votives in those and lining the aisle with them. Or maybe a satin swag down the aisle with some rhinestone decor at the pew. Of course there are always tulle and bows, which I could add red rhinestones to.
Can't believe I finally found him at age 47!

We got married two weeks before Christmas so the church was already decorated. We added some pew decorations for a whopping $10.  (I made them using grapevine wreaths from Dollar Tree and some Christmas garland/berry sprigs we already had at home).

If budget is a concern, just keep things simple and don't decorate every pew. We did every other 1/2 way down the aisle.

We'll just do 2 large flower arrangements beside the altar of my historic church. A typical Sunday flower donation is $30-50. Those flowers are bought at wholesale and put in vases the church already owns. I think our arrangements, which will be retail, will cost about $100-200.

Our church decor consisted of pew bows ($20) and 4 pots of mums at the end of the isle ($20).

We just swagged tulle down the aisle. Just waited until tulle was 1/2 price from Hobby Lobby. I don't think that's very vintage glam though. I'm having a hard time picturing that.

If you scroll down about midway, it looks like she used tall glass vases filled with water and a floating candle and a pretty aisle runner.

This picture uses tissue paper pom balls, which you could make very inexpensively. They sell tissue paper, huge packs of white, for $1, and smaller packs of colors, for $1.

I've always loved the look of flower petals and candles.

You can get bags of silk rose petals super cheap, and the candles and glass holders are also easy to nab at a discount. Just keep your eye out for sales and coupons.

Yes, the link shows what I'm going for - lots of glass, crystal, but with a vintage look - I have tons of old glass vases and bowls and lots of antique pics I'm going to use on tables - but just trying to decide what I want for the church.

The bulk of your time is spent at the reception, not the ceremony venue.  If money is an issue, save it for the reception.

Guests don't see pew decorations once they're seated, and they look down front at you once the ceremony starts.  Put any decorations down there.

Can you have a candlelight ceremony? That adds a warm, intimate feel.  My church has pew candles that couples can use - does yours? It's worth asking what they've got stored away for seasonal use. Sometimes they'll bring it out for you.
