So, I found and met with a wedding coordinator who seems fantastic. She sent me the contract today, and it states that I would need to pay her the full amount with the contract of $500 (keep in mind this is a day of coordinator). My fiance doesn't like that she requires all of the money now for an event that is 9 months away. What is normal for this sort of thing? What do you guys think?

I would see if she'll take half as a deposit and the balance the day of your wedding. No way would I pay a vendor in full from the beginning.

I agree with PP. Our planner had us pay 50% down and the rest is due a couple weeks before the wedding.

None of my vendors have asked for the full payment, BUT I have paid lots of my vendors in full already. I would just make sure you have receipts and contracts to back you up. Now if you haven't heard anything negative or positive about this DOC then I wouldn't trust it. If you have heard good things about her (on the board or wedding bee) I would pay what you could afford (whether it be have or in full).
