OK - I'm trying to put together my look for my wedding decor and trying to stay on a budget. I had originally thought something vintage - I have tons of old pics at home, including many wedding pics and other vintage items. I was thinking of putting  a couple of these items on each table and weaving faux pearl strands around them. I realized I have a TON of quart-sized canning jars that I rarely use (I use pints more often) and that I got for next to nothing at an estate sale a while back. I'm trying to think of how I can incorporate these jars for my wedding day - maybe putting one on each table with a candle in it? Using them at the head table, placecard table, etc. But I am sort of going for vintage glam and I'm not sure the jars will work - they'll look too rustic or country vintage. I was thinking maybe I could put something in the jars to make them look more dressy or elegant, while still looking vintage.

Any ideas? What do you think?

I'm using a bunch of mason jars for our wedding. This is what I did (clicky) but it might be too rustic for what you're wanting. Instead of doing twine you could just do the vintage lace.

You could also put the pictures inside the jars like this (clicky).

When I think of vintage glam, I immediately imagine mercury glass and cameos. Just some ideas.

I would go easy on the faux pearls. My friend had them all over her wedding and it ended up looking like breakfast at tiffanys meets mardi gras.

Try posting this on the Retro & Vintage board. The ladies there have a lot of great suggestions. I originally wanted to use mason jars also, but then decided against it because I also wasn't going for that rustic of a look. I did use the lace-over-glass idea of the PP and put it over small round fishbowls. So cute!

I'm doing similar stuff, and I actually have an entire pinterest page devoted to it.

Not to promote my account because after the wedding I probably won't even use it... there are just a lot of good links on that page.

Good luck!

My friend helped me make paper flowers and we put them in mason jars.

If you have the budget or the will to self-arrange, doing real floral should be much easier, though. :)

I'm not sure how big of canning jars yours are?  Candles are popular!  Here are some examples:

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Thanks - great stuff. I was originally thinking more vintage rustic like yours, but now I'm going more vintage glam. But repinned a bunch of stuff - terrific!
