Hi Ladies!

My name is Christine & I'm getting married this September. My wedding is in a wine cellar and will lit up with lights and candles but I would I can't decided what colors to use for my wedding. I'm afraid to do something too dark because its already kind of dim in the venue. We are having our reception in the same place so any reception idea would help too!

Think about this very carefully, because if you choose the wrong colors, your marriage will be invalid, and you will be a meretrix and a sl*tbag.

just kidding, of course

But this is one of many aspects of wedding planning where you shouldn't let anyone tell you about "right" and "wrong." You should do what you and your fiance want. With such an interesting venue, I'd skip colors and get the cheap white linens. I'd see if my bridesmaids could agree on a dress color. I might just do white flower, too.

We held our reception in a wine cellar, and I actually wish we would have gone for all white linens and white flowers. We alternated purple and white flower centerpieces. The white looked so much prettier against the dramatic lighting and candles in an otherwise dimly lit venue.

I've since seen other wedding photos at the same venue with all white decor and it looked so elegant against the barrels! You can choose to use colored flowers for your bouquets if you want them.

Simple linens would be beautiful in that venue. I would keep the centerpieces simple as well to let the venue shine.

I agree with others. Do very basic decorating, and let the venue speak for itself. You can do neutral colors as long as they are a light shade, or you could go with a medium shade of almost any other color (that is how I am seeing it though, in my head)

I'm getting married on September 29th and we're using hunter green and copper. All the girls will be in hunter green in a dress style of their choosing with copper ribbons wrapped arround the bouquets.
