I broke down and started reading the series.   I just finished Eclipse and still don't get why people are obsessed with Edward, but I understand the hoopla about the books now.Also, I prefer Jacob.

    I understand what you are saying.  Maybe people think its a fun way to get into the series?But I really enjoyed reading the books.  The movie was slow, I hope New Moon is better.  My FI is reading Eclipse right now, they are catchy books.

    My DD and all the girls I work with call these books crack and kept nagging me to read them.  I had Twilight for the better part of 2 months before I finished it (quickly) last weekend.  Bella is bleeding profusely in front of 6 vampires when it ended so I had to go buy the 2nd book on Saturday instead of waiting til Monday to borrow it from someone at work. DH has surgery tomorrow.  I will finish New Moon and start the next book at the hospital.  It's like crack and I really never had the desire to read it or watch the movie.

    I'm halfway through with Eclipse right now.   I think I was more into it with the first book, but I'm going to finish the series bc I'm so close.  I'm just so over Bella - I can't deal with how dependent she is on Edward (who, btw, I think is a douche - there, I said it.)  I think it's actually a pretty bad example to provide to young adults.  True love does not mean you must be together 24/7 and have no life outside of the relationship.  I really hope Bella grows up soon.

This is why I HATED Twilight.  Especially when people talk about it being a great love story.I doubt I'll read the rest because I already can't stand the main characters.  And from what I hear it just gets worse.

    I agree that it's a terrible example to young adults.   I think it's also pretty telling about those women who are obsessed with Edward.   I know how I'd like the series to end, but I'll still read the last one to see how it really did.
