Hi ladies!

I have a question about the processional. I want to have "China Roses" by Enya as my processional song for several reasons. First, it is to honor my late grandfather, who will be passed away 3 years by the time of the wedding, but was a big part of my life. He loved Enya and he loved roses. Plus the song is just beautiful. The only problem is, it's a five minute song. So I got the idea to have everyone (moms, bridesmaids, & me) process to the song. Has anyone been to a wedding where this was done? Can it be done, or would it be too weird?

Any input would be appreciated!

Everyone entered to the same song for us (Open Window by Sarah Harmer).  Worked great - no issues.  We had a small wedding party and a short aisle.  Didn't make sense to have a short clips of multiple songs.

I've been thinking about using just one song too. I want an orchestral version of "All I ask of you" from Phantom of the Opera. I finally found a recording that sounds perfect, and I just don't want to break it up with another song. It's nearly four minutes, so my dad suggested doing a test run at the venue to see how long it takes to walk. Our venue is a museum garden, so it's easy for use to do that and make sure everyone can fit within the song. You don't want it to look like pure rushing just to fit everyone onto one track.

My bridesmaids and I are walking to the same song.  It's okay to not have short snippets of multiple songs.  Personally, I like to hear more of one song than constantly changing songs every 2 minutes.

For both my aunts and my brothers wedding entire WP including parents processed to one song. I would just make sure you guys practice it and/or make sure the coordinator will release people at the correct times.

Our processional is basically one song. It's only going to be my MOH and myself, so having us walk to two separate songs felt silly. Our pianist is going to make the song (Canon in D)a bit more "dramatic" as I enter (louder and more expressionistic) to signal a change.

Our pianist composed the song I walked down the aisle to specifically for me. It ended up being 4 minutes long and was just so beautiful that there was no way I was going to only let him play 30 seconds so we had everyone walk in to the same song :)  It worked out perfectly (and everyone got to hear the entire song which was an added bonus!)

I actually want two songs but my dj is going to do a mix for me of the two so they kind of blend together.. I still dont know what I want for the recessional tho! Processional will be instrumental of I'm Yours by Jason Mraz for the bridal party then Somewhere Over the Rainbow by israel kamakawiwo'ole for me..
My FI wants the Iowa Hawkeye fight song... but yeah that's not gunna happen maybe when we enter the reception LOL

I don't think it really matters either way.  If you have live musicians (I am one, so I must add this), they could create a nice medley for you of multiple songs, or your DJ could simply play clips from two different songs.  I think any way is fine.
