Unity candle question

Is everyone who is doing this having their moms light the candles? I'm thinking it might be nice to ask our grandmas to do it. We'll be presenting flowers to our moms, so they'll still be honored during the ceremony. Thoughts?(P.S. Yes, we cleared doing one with our priest already.) =)

We lit it ourselves.  That would be cute to have your grandmas do it.

Ours moms lit them. My MIL handed me her candle and my mom handed hers to MH.

Oh, but I think that would be really cute to have your grandmothers do it.  I like that idea.

Unfortunately our grandparents are no longer with us so this would not be an option. Our mother's are lighting the candle.  It is meant to symbolize the unity of two families so I think it is a terrific idea to have the eldest members of both families do this.  Very touching and probably something you will look back on and be very happy you made that decision
