I haven't started mine yet (wedding isn't until September) but we are just getting wooden sticks from Hobby Lobby. They are like $5.99 for 100 or something like that. (Always remember the coupon!) Then making pinwheels and using glue dots to attach them.

These are ours! I just took sticks from Hobby Lobby and wrapped 3" of washi tape around the top and snipped notches into the ends- One of the easiest projects I've tackled :)
