So, I'm not a native of California, but am getting married in CA to a Californian. I grew up in a place where lilacs grow like crazy every spring, and I would love to have them at our wedding. Does anyone know if they grow there in May? And possibly know of a contact where I could get some? I haven't had any luck so far with actual lilacs, just "lilac-colored" roses. We're in the Ventura area, but anywhere around LA will do. Thanks

Hi! I am also in Ventura. There is a farmer's market each week by the mall on Wednesdays and downtown on Saturdays. Talk with the flower vendors there. They're local and I would imagine their prices would be better than a full-service flower shop. Good luck!

I agree about talking to local florists. I have an aunt who lives in the southern CA area, and she bemoans the fact that she can't grow lilacs. Not sure they grow there like they do in the northern climates. Check before you make a decision.
