So I am seriously considering buying chair covers and sashes and setting them up myself.  The cost is so comparable to renting and I can resell them when after the wedding.  I am wondering if anyone else has done this in the past and how much work is actually involved.  Will they all need to be washed or ironed before the wedding?  How well do they hold up to moving around?  We will be having our ceremony and reception in the same space so the chairs will be moved and restacked while the space is reset for the reception.  I am worried that they might not look as great after all of that.

I appreciate the opinions.  TIA!

Hi!  I would imagine they will arrive clean and folded in plastic so they will have creases.  Try a garment steamer. It should be a lot easier/faster than ironing them initially plus you can use it for touch-ups the day of your wedding.

When I rented chair covers for a birthday party a few years ago and they came pressed, individually hung on hangers, and covered in plastic - just like you get clothes from the dry cleaner.  They looked perfect and were ready to go.  That might be a good way to store and transport them before your ceremony, you'll just need a few rolling garment racks.

Good luck!

We are ordering table linens and chair covers from tableclothsfactory.com. Their prices are cheaper or right at what it would cost to rent.

They will be wrinkled. We bought a steamer and steamed all of ours. It was approx a 5 hour job for 125 chairs.

How would you keep them from wrinkling again before the wedding?
