This is my dress....maggie sottero-leoni

I don't plan on wearing the strap, but I'd like to somehow make it into a headband and I need help from you DIYers! I want to attach it to a satin ribbon and wear it at the reception, since I won't be wearing my veil all night.

Has anyone made their own ribbon headband like this? any tips on how I might be able to do it?  Should I have it made by someone who's more qualified?

I think that the entire strap as a head band may be a bit overwhelming.  If I were you I would take my favorite part of the strap and just use a little hot glue and attach it to a ribbon or plain headband.  One thing I'd warn is that silky ribbons tend to move around.

Thank you for the advice! I'll have to wait until I have the actual piece of fabric and the ribbon together so that I can figure out a way to make it work. I agree that using the entire thing might be too much though!

I don't know why,but I didn't even think about hot glueing it...I was worried that I'd have to learn how to use a sewing machine! Thank you!

I was going to do the same thing-- the idea was suggested by the woman doing my alterations. She was going to take care of it for me. Do you have that option instead of DIY?

hmm, I never thought of asking the tailor! Maybe I will and if its a lot of $ then I'll figure out how to do it myself.
