• He's a waste of space. I can't even believe I'm watching him on 60 minutes. I should just change the channel. He makes my blood boil.

  • Something about getting caught always makes people more compassionate.  Can't say that I'm watching 60 Minutes, but I shall channel my hatred through you, okay?
  • Nope, don't buy it for a second.

  • Absolutely effing not.  I am neutral about him playing in the NFL again, but I loathe all the publicity he's getting otherwise. At least many of the dogs are doing well: http://www.bestfriends.org/vickdogs/(That is, the ones that weren't brutally killed in dogfights and otherwise.)

  • He is the scum of the earth and I don't believe a word he says. I am not watching it for fear of throwing something at my TV and breaking it.

  • PP..love the pic with the dogs! I think this country needs to really take animal cruelty seriously! You hurt or kill an animal and you get charged with a felony NOT a misdemeaner...hurting an animal is just one step away from doing something to a child! No excuses for his behavior!
  • He is so disgusting, I can't stand to hear anything about him!
  • Not watching but don't buy it and think he's scum
  • He's an assshole and the Eagles should be ashamed of themselves for signing him.

  • Ughh... I am so sick of him already.  DH and I just moved to Philly, that is all we hear about on the news, people in stores, people walking around downtown, etc. No, I don't believe him one bit.  He lied when he first got busted even though he was definitely guilty, so what would stop him from lying about having changed so he could get back on the team.  He said something earlier about he knew his job was in jeopardy which is why he lied to begin with. He sucks.

  • I find it disgusting that someone can be that awful of a person, do those awful things, and then come back and make millions of dollars to play a game for a living. Actually, I think that part of it is stupid for anyone, but he is particularly NOT deserving of the life he is being allowed to go back to.

  • Instead of sending him to prison they should have chained him up and unleashed a pack of angry dogs on him.  I find it very disappointing that the NFL would allow him back into the spotlight like that.  There are those who say that everyone deserves a second chance and that he deserves to make a living.  You know what I say?  Go get a real job doing actual hard work, jackass.  I'll still think you are a despicable human being, but I won't have to see your face on my TV anymore. He disgusts me.

  • So after willingly hanging, drowning, electrocuting dogs, you realize it was wrong while sitting in prison? But not when you were actually watching those animals suffer?Bullsh1t. Someone that cruel does not deserve a second chance.

  • I also don't understand society's rejection of Vick, but acceptance of those athletes guilty of DUIs, gun, and drug charges. Lance Briggs drunkenly crashed his car and fled the scene... but there is no public outcry like there is for Vick.I think, for me, the difference is in the intent.  While drunk driving, carrying guns (if done illegally), and doing drugs are all dangerous and irresponsible behaviors, Vick was maliciously and intentionally torturing and killing living creatures for sport.  (Obviously if someone driving drunk or carrying a weapon resulted in the death of another person, that would be a different story.)  But it's the cruelty I can't get over.

  • Yes, but these are all serious crimes. Why is it that only Vick is the one that is allowed back in the NFL only temporarily? Shouldn't all criminals that have done their time be treated the same? Frankly, I have a strict view of DUIs and it is not because I have a sad story to associate with it. If you drive while drunk, you have to realize that you may kill someone. No, you may not "intend" to, but everyone is smart enough to realize that it can happen.

  • It makes me absolutely sick to my stomach to think that this man is going to be making millions of dollars again in the NFL.  I for one don't believe he's done his time- I think he should've been locked up far longer than what he was.
  • One has to also realize that some people have not grown up in cultures where animals' lives are respected. Vick did not grow up in an area where animals were loved and respected. He grew up in an area where this disgusting behavior was acceptable and his elder family members participated, was viewed as a status symbol and cool.I sincerely hope he was honest and takes this as an opportunity to reach out to kids that grew up as he did, and help them realize how repulsive dog fighting is.Again, I am not defending Vick, but I am hopeful that he did change... and I am glad he's not on the Bears :)

  • Well, he did that time that the court system assigned him. I am choosing to trust the court system and accept that he has done his time. He should not be given longer time than what fits the crime (according to court precedents) just because he is a celebrity.

Shouldn't all criminals that have done their time be treated the same?I don't disagree with you.  They are all serious crimes, and I think the problem is that these athletes are not punished harshly enough for committing them.  Rather than say that people are being too harsh on Vick for thinking he should not be allowed back into the NFL, I think we should be asking why the other guys got off easy.  But in reference to the lack of public outcry over other crimes, I think it just has to do with the fact that there were less graphic accounts of those crimes in the media.  It was hard to stomach the descriptions of what he did, and that causes people to react more emotionally than they might otherwise.

  • Mandy- I have to agree with your arguement. That said embarassed being an eagle fan right now.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

He grew up in an area where this disgusting behavior was acceptable and his elder family members participated, was viewed as a status symbol and cool.I don't buy it.  When you use this argument it opens the road for anyone who had a rough childhood. Just because he grew up in a sh*tty neighborhood doesn't mean he was exposed to dog fighting. After going to a college like VT he should have learned how the world works. Having a crappy childhood is no excuse for acting like this as an adult, you have the ability to make better decisions.
