I get really irritated with the ones that are talking shiit about E/people on E.  Don't be such a coward, just post it in FFF or something.

I think it's more interesting that someone could successfully convince everyone close to her that she was going to school.  What an elaborate charade that must have been.

    I couldn't read that.

Yeah, and that was even one of the "rules" that Arb said - if it's about a Knottie, save it for FFF.  But I guess some people still just don't have the guts to call people out here.

True. I don't really believe that one, though. If you're an expert in the field, people can tell.

Edit: Also, if I had a doctorate from Yale, I would make t-shirts and hats proclaiming it. Why not stick up for yourself during that discussion?

Andalso, what happens when you "graduate" and are expected to get a job in the field? How would that work?

Like the one saying "Just because women think you're funny doesn't mean you are"- what the f*ck?  Way to hate on other women AND not be willing to say it here and defend it.

Yeah, but just because you're an expert doesn't mean that you can always articulate your knowledge well. I go to school with people who have more letters after their names than I have in mine, and they can still come off as babbling idiots because they don't know how to apply their knowledge to a debate or a situation.

Yeah, kiki, that one bugged me.  So it only "counts" if men find you funny?  WTF?

I'd normally agree w shelly about the common sense thing, but she did say they were talking about her area of expertise. I'd love to have 2 PhDs, but a touch of modesty couldn't hurt.

Oh yeah, how about the fact that Ivy League schools don't offer merit-based scholarships?  They only do need-based assistance.  (and athletic)

I still think that if you have a problem with someone you should tell them as it happens instead of waiting until FFF.

But as far as PS is concerned, if the posts are about the board itself or the dynamic, I'll probably post them.  When they single out specific people I'll just delete it.

I don't get why the person with multiple degrees wouldn't just say that on here - why does that need to be secret?

There are going to be a LOT of fake secrets, as in any post secret case, but even moreso now that nesters are creating them. You have to read them with a big grain of doubt, and I truly hope some are made up.

I will say though, that I want to be a nicer person after the one about a girl from NC being her hero. I don't think that girl is me, but it makes me want to encourage more people and bitch less. That's stupid and silly, but it's how I feel after reading that. I remember the few people who have just said a nice word or encouraged me in life, and I am thankful for them today. And I'm going to tell them.

Maybe I don't have a good enough imagination, or any good secrets of my own, but I feel like some of them MUST be from deep lurkers. I mean, I haven't been here forever, but I can't even begin to match a lot of those to the personalities I know here.

... Which, I guess, is the whole point of the "secret" thing. Oh.
