Edamame

So per many of your suggestions, I bought some frozen edamame yesterday.  How do you make it?  Can i store it in tupperware and take it w/ me to work for snack?

Re: Edamame

  • Steam it and then put a little salt on top.  Just eat the peas instead.  Yum!!!
  • Ha!  I meant to say "just eat the peas INSIDE."
  • haha thanks.  will it save in tupperware for a few days...so i can take it to work w/ me?
  • You can eat it just thawed out or warm.  I prefer it warm, so I put the defrosted edamame in a bowl and microwave it for like 30 seconds. You shouldn't have a problem measuring out what you want and taking it with you in a container. Then you can eat it chilled or microwave it.  I lightly salt mine. It helps to be near a trash can to dispose of the pods!
  • you can bring them into work for a snack. ive done this a few times. however, if you reheat them, the pods tend to get more dried out. they are still yummy though! as for cooking them, depends on the bag. i buy the bags that you can just steam them microwave which is super convenient. you can also cook them on the stove in a pot of boiling water until they get bright green, or you can put them into a steamer too. any way they are very tasty, and great for you!
