Getting in Shape

eek!

So after being at my lowest/ most fit weight ever last year(I was a D1 track athlete). Breaking my foot and becoming my highest weight (153/154). Finally recovering after a year! I've been able to workout again, and got out of my horrrrible funk of feeling gross and having no energy at all Im finally getting back down!

I started working out slowing to make sure my foot wouldnt re fracture, started counting my calories on MFP, cut out some sugar ( I still slip here and there).. Im ecstatic to say im down to 146.0!!!!!! I still have 5 pounds to go to get to where I was before, but its possible!

It was extremely frustrating strting to work out again, especially because I couldnt do all I ws used to doing. I still cant run as much as I want, so I tend to bike. Im still not completely back yet, but im close!

Anyone else out there recovering from chronic injuries/ and starting to reach their weightloss goals??

ooh that sounds like a good idea! Im going to look into that because running just makes me feel soo good! Not to mention the great things it does for your body that biking hasnt done for me yet!

another HUGE thing I hate to admit helps soo much, was stretching. I also added that into my regimen and Ive felt so much better by adding that in!

[QUOTE]Aww, thanks Kwith! I actually love threads like this, because they inspire me to know that I CAN get back the progress that I lost.

[QUOTE]You have such funny timing, because two of my favorite bloggers just talked about injury this week. This post from Hungry Runner Girl discusses pool running: http://www.hungryrunnergirl.com/2013/03/17275.html And Skinny Runner had a two part post about injuries last week. This is part 2 about her recovery: http://skinnyrunner.com/2013/03/21/my-injury-story-recovery/ Just a little inspiration if you're looking for something to read!

Kinda crazy, but i read the skinny runners blog and I had the same piroformis syndrome she had! I had it for like 6 months+ nd it was the worst feeling! (almost). Sitting in classes all day (and trying to practice) my lower back would get numb and HURT. But im okay with that now, thank goodness
