They are my target areas.
I am considering hiring a personal trainer because it is not that exp at my gym, but I am afraid they will push me too hard and I will be uncomfortable.
I like to push myself without feeling the stress and pressure of a trainer.
Looking for machines and workouts that I can do all three target areas in an hour

To be honest, getting a trainer at least for a single session could really be beneficial. They will go over what machines you should use (and how to use them safely), help you work out a schedule for each typre of workout, and answer and questions you might have.

If you're comfortable, you're not working hard enough.

I think it's going to be hard for us to tell you exactly which machines to use since we don't know your gym set up or anything like that. I think that Anna had it right with get a trainer, at least for one session to set you up with a plan!
Some gyms have educated staff that can tell you which machines would be good based on the areas you want to work - and they can show you how the machine works. They'll be less pressure than what you're picturing a trainer to be (BTW they're not all scary like TV makes them look)!

THIS...when I feel 'comfortable' w/ a weight or workout, I make it harder on myself. Keeping your body challenged is an important way to get results.

I recently discovered the rowing machine at my gym and it's awesome for all those trouble areas.

Im not going to make myself feel uncomfortable to loose weight. I lost over 50 lbs before with working out comfortably so i am trying to do that again. I like the rowing machine but there are only 2 at my gym and one is usually broken :(
So far ive been running on tredmil, doing eliptical and the bikes

Well, when you said "I want to work out my abs, thighs, and arms" I assumed you meant you wanted to "tone" them. And the only way to do that is to build muscle and lose fat. The best way to build muscle is with heavy resistance training. And yes, that's not comfortable.
You certainly don't need to be uncomfortable to lose weight. But you sort of do to lose muscle.

Explore the world of free weights. Building muscle can really help tone up those areas. Squats and lunges with weights, duck walk with weights, military press, kickbacks, bicept curls, push-ups, sit-ups and cruches with weights....
Look at magazines like Self- they usually have good free-weight workout printouts you can follow.
