My fiance and I finally settled on a date for our wedding -- August 18th. We actually already have most of the wedding planning done, so we are turning to the honeymoon. We will be leaving the next day or the day after, and returning the following Monday (between a 5 and 7 day honeymoon). We are having a hard time deciding where to go. My fiance wants warm beaches and swimming, and I would like luxury and spa. Ideally we would like to stay in or near the US given our time constraints. We will definitely consider Mexico if it is safe enough -- all inclusive would be great. Our total budget is around $6000, including airfare. Anyone have any recommendations given those constraints?
Thanks in advance for any help!

For $6000 you can go almost anywhere you want. From what I understand, the tourist areas of Mexico are safe.
Check out www.cheapcarribbean.com. They have pretty great deals for just about anywhere.

We're date twins, and my FI and I decided on Hawaii. It's definitely do-able for $6000, especially if you're only planning on staying 5-7 days.

I highly recomend Le Blanc in Cancun. It was voted trip advisiors #1 resort in Cancun. It's all inclusive including UNLIMITED spa!!!!! Plus if you book now and travel before the end of the year they give you $1500 in resort credit to use for excursions, room upgrades, things like that. It should be within your budget for 5-7 nights.

$6000 would go a long way in California. Southern CA has some fabulous areas, including Coronado Bay near San Diego. We spent 3 days of our 14 day California honeymoon at the Loew's Coronado Bay. We had a king suite overlooking the bay area with a deck right on the water, watched the sun set every night. It was amazing. You can drive to San Diego easily over the bridge and sight see there as well. You could fly into LA, see the sights, drive down to San Diego area and fly home from there. Three city trips with driving in between is good if you like scenery and don't mind spending a few hours in the car. They generally don't cost more than a direct round trip flight.
