So FI and I are in LOVE with Excellence Playa Mujeres and really want to go but we are disagreeing on what room to get. We both really like there two story rooftop option which of course is the most expensive option really and then our next debate is whether to go Club or not. By adding the Club option it throws about an extra 1000 onto the final price. I think we should just skip it and hope we don't need it however aparently if you get Club you face the water which is very important to my FI...
So, have any of you ladies been there or have any helpful info? Or even another similar resort that we may fall in love with that might save us a few dollars? We are paying for most of our wedding so we are on a tight budget but also want to have a great honeymoon so we can stretch it if we have to but would prefer not.

aparently from what I have read on tripadvisor and understand from the resorts website....
Club= you get liquor bottles in your room not just beer, you face the water, you get access to the club area of the resort (I think it is just a bar/dance and lounger type thing), suposedly you get better treatment and service on the beach
I have just heard so many mixed reviews I can't decide. I mean we can get the same room either way it just depends on facing the ocean or not and all those other little extras.

I haven't been there, but we will more than likely go with this resort. I would go with club because of the better views and not having to worry about having a cabana/bed on the beach. The extra perks are worth it IMO.

For any other vacation I'd probably skip it, but for honeymoon, IF you have the money, do it up!

I have been to Excellence Riviera. We did not do the club. I think if the view is important to you, go for it, but otherwise, the perks aren't that much better. I had a view of the water from my balcony, but I may have just lucked out. The club rooms are the closest to the beach. There is a restricted pool and beach area with cabanas for Club members, but getting a beach chair or cabana was not an issue when I was there (January). The club area was actually pretty empty, so I'm sure the drink service is very fast. However, the service at Excellence was amazing. IMO, you don't need to pay extra for a few additional perks.
