We are looking for something in the carribean..  we would like to be able to see and do stuff outside the resort. probably in the caribbean not mexico. we also thought about doing a european trip

 We are looking for something in the carribean.. we would like to be able to see and do stuff outside the resort. probably in the caribbean not mexico. we also thought about doing a european trip. 
I do wan to relax but i also like to see places and not feel stuck on the resort. 
and we don't have that high of a budget...
any suggestions??
