I have posted a couple of times on here regarding our Honeymoon, but now I need more recommedations!

We are needing to go on a very inexpensive honeymoon.  We do not want to spend any more than  $1000-$1500.
Our wedding is December 1st, so we would want to go towards the middle of December due to my school schedule.
We want to stay in the United States.

We love the thought of going to NYC, but if anyone has any other advice please let me know.  We love the northern/eastern states.  We want COLD weather as well!

We went to Park City, Utah and had a package from Travelocity for $1551 which included airfare and hotel for 4 nights. Our room was a nice condo style room and it included a full kitchen. The hotel was called Jupiter Inn. We skied four days and loved the skiing there! Good luck with whatever you decide.

Come visit us in Boston.  Have hot chocolate at Burdicks, hit a few museums, take in a Hockey game.

Washington, DC has a lot of interesting sites.  It is less expensive than New York.

I think any of the big NE cities:  DC, Philly, NYC, or Boston fit the bill. Understand they are all very expensive & have hotels that charge for 1 night your entire budget.  Use Priceline to get a great deal.  If there is some famous restaurant you are just dying to go to but worry you can't afford go for lunch, eat appetizers at the bar or just have a drink.

Use public transporation to get around in all the cities.  Parking is a nightmare & extremely expensive. In NYC 1 night just to park could cost you over $50.

Enjoy

Additional NYC advice, unless you have your heart set on it, find a hotel that isn't in the middle of the city.  The subway only costs $2.25 each trip and 30-45 minutes on the subway sounds like a long ride, but it's worth it to save money.  Plus, you get a great view from some of the subways in Queens and Brooklyn.  Also, if you expect to ride the subway more than 12 times (which is easy to do if you're on vacation and going all over the place) in a week, buy a 7 day unlimited metro card.

Look into DC if you have never been there. It's lovely during the holidays, and everything you will want to see is probably free. Monuments: free. Smithsonian Museums: free. National Archives: free. White House tour: free. Federal Mint, where you see sheets of $100 bills rolling off: free.

We always stay at the State Plaza hotel, which is about 5 blocks from the Lincoln Monument/Viet War Wall, which is at one end of the mall. You would get off the metro at the George Washington University/Foggy Bottom stop. It's a former apartment center, now a hotel. The rooms have kitchens with fridges, microwaves, stoves, and there is a CVS around the corner that sells food. You can save a lot on restaurants that way.

You won't need a car. Look into airlines that get you to Reagan International Airport, as they have a stop on the Metro subway system. Otherwise, fly into Baltlimore and use the busses & trains to get you to DC. You won't want to drive because hotels charge $25-$50 a night for storage, and you can get everywhere by the Metro system.

If you want to drive and save on the airfare, then stay in Virginia somewhere, like Alexandria which has stops on the metro.

I'd recommend Boston, NYC, and heartily recommend Charleston SC which is one of the most romantic cities in the US and when we were there last January it was mid 60's every day. Also lots of history.

Thank you everyone for your advice!!! We've been to NYC before, so we know what to expect.  We stay in Hell's Kitchen and ride the Subway! But I do have a question regarding Boston - Could we easily fly into Boston, get a hotel in a good area and walk to nearby restaurants/coffee shops? We wouldn't stay for too many days, just a nice & romantic get-a-way!

The subway in Boston is called the T.  www.mbta.com is their website.   We also have 7 day T passes for tourists.  You can get to most places easily via the T.   There are many good areas in Boston:  Fenway, Back Bay, North End, Financial District.  I don't stay in hotels locally but in other cities have found good deals on priceline and kayak.com.

As a major city, there are generally at least one direct flight daily from any other major city.  I don't know pricing from KY but I have flown direct to Louisville and Cincinnati.  The Cincinnati airport is at least partially in KY.  Boston is not an airline HUB so there are not tons of flights like a DCA or LGA that are HUBS for some airlines.

I live right outside Boston and I'm in the city all the time. You can definitely get a great hotel within walking distance -- I recommend staying in the Back Bay area for shopping/restauranting. The T is fine but the city is so small that it is very walkable!

I don't think anyone else suggested it, but PA is a great state ;-)  I know a couple who honeymooned in the Poconos and loved it.  There's also the Gateway Lodge in Cook Forest, which is gorgeous and affordable.  My FI and I went for a weekend for about $700, including a car rental.
