My fiance and I are looking to go to Maui for our honeymoon and are clueless about where to stay.  We are looking for somewhere where we can relax but be in the middle of everything.  Someone reccommended the Hyatt.  Is this a nice hotel with activites around it?

I say Honua Kai.  On VRBO...u can get a high end ocean view for under $300/night.  If your budget is higher, start looking into penthouses.
Problem with many of the hotels is...they are getting old...and have a musty smell.  Honua Kai is brand new...with the famous Dukes bar on site.

The Hyatt is a great choice!  It's near Front Street, so you'll have lots to do in the evenings, near Black Rock for great snorkeling, has a nice beach and a beautiful pool area.  We sent my parents there last year as a 60th birthday present and they had a fantastic time.

I absolutely love the Hyatt.  The pool is amazing and it is within walking distance to Whaler's Village for shopping and dinner.  It's only a short drive to Lahine for more shopping and dining.  I've been to Maui about 5 times and always stay there.  My FI and I are staying here for part our of honeymoon.  Good luck and happy planning.
