It's the Maldives and no, you probably cannot make it there on $6K. The airfare alone will be close to $2K per person. Most people who travel there spend around 1.5-2 weeks since it takes almost two days to get there. Even at $500/night, which is a pretty darn good deal, you're looking at $3500 for 7 nights in just hotel accommodations and then the $4K or so in airfare. We're planning on heading there next year for our first anniversary (we're not married just yet) but we'll be using FF miles to cover the air.

For $6K and something different, check out the Cook Islands, Fiji, or even Tahiti (Moorea only). You may be able to get a week at one of those places depending on the level of accommodations you choose and the time of year.

Thank you soo much ..that certainly helps...i told the better half i didnt think that was possible..i'll def. have us check out those other islands. Maybe we'll make it a 5yr anniversary gift to us.
