We are the backpacking types who go crazy with a beach vacation. We would like to go somewhere in the rainforest, but also on the Caribbean coast where we don't have to take Malaria pills. We like culture and history. We've narrowed it down to Panama, Peru or Costa Rica and now we need some help. Does anyone have any ideas on an all inclusive that they've stayed at that is about a three star? Any suggestions of places you loved or hated or things you've done would be most appreciated! Thanks!

We honeymooned at the Rio Celeste Hideaway hotel in Costa Rica. It was amazing. It was a quiet boutique hotel in the middle of the Tenorio Volcano National Park. Right in the rain forest and away from all things touristy. It wasn't AI, but the food was amazing and it was inexpensive. http://www.riocelestehideaway.com/
It was about a 2 km hike to the entrance of the park and you can be there all day. It was amazing. We have absolutely not one bad thing to say about this place. Everything was positive and you will not find a better hotel staff. We even had dinner with the owner one night and he was awesome. I highly recommend it.

I went to Peru (not on my honeymoon) a couple of years ago, and spent time in both Lima and Cusco/Machu Picchu. I have to say that anyone that does not make the trip to Machu Picchu at some point in their lifetime is really missing out! It is probably the most amazing, beautiful place I have ever been, and I would love to take my fiance back with me one day.I didnt hike to the top of Machu Picchu when I was there (you can also go by train from Cusco), but tons of people do it and absolutely love the experience. I dont know of any all-inclusive hotels in Cusco, as it as a more quaint city, but the hotel we stayed at was AMAZING. They would do absolutely anything to make our stay more enjoyable. They planned our entire day at Machu Picchu, including meals and transportation. They also have a hotel car service that will take you (free of charge) anywhere in Cusco you'd like, and then pick you up whenever you'd like. Breakfast each day was also included. They were great about telling us where we should eat, and what we needed to see while staying there. The website is: http://www.torredorada.com/en/You definitely don't need to take any malaria medication to visit this area, where as if you were to hike Peru's actual rainforest, you definitely would.
