My FI and I are trying to decide where to go on our honeymoon. We have been looking at Belize, Costa Rica, P*nta Cana, PR, and Jamaica. We would love a mix of relaxation (beach, spa, etc) and excursions and fun. Any suggestions or help narrowing down our list of potentials??

We are looking at Belize - I have fallen in LOVE with this private island resort (Cayo Espanto) but it's pretty expensive.

I'd recommend Puerto Rico. FI and I went there twice last year and it is fantastic! Tons to do (that's why we went back), beautiful and much cheaper than many other Caribbean options.

I went with friends to Costa Rica a couple of years ago and it was amazing! We went to the Arenal Volcano where you will find tons of places with hot springs and affordable massages, then we went to the tropical area for zip-lining and hiking and swimming in waterfalls, and then we went to the beach--awesome warm water, etc. and got to see the little monkies!
It's also a big honeymoon destination.

i've been to PC and CR. cr has exponentially more to do. PC is really pretty quiet stay on the resort kind of area with limited activities outside of the resorts.

Have you considered a cruise? They are very cost friendly. You would be at a different island each morning. Extra costs, above the cruise cost, would be tips, drinks, shore excursions. Most of the food and onboard entertainment is included.

Look into Panama City, Panama. My daughter and FI are going there after speaking with a travel agent. Their wishes were: go out of the U.S., a large interesting city with good day trips available, and a budget around $2000 for a 5 night vacation, including travel, lodging, and side trips. To visit: Panama Canal tour, beach, the Old City (Casco Viejo), Gamboa rain forest. Safe country for travel. Go to Trip Advisor website and search Panama City things to do.
