When I was there we went on a Sonoa Island tour. We booked thru our hotel. It was awesome! Took a catamaran to an island, had lunch, laid by the beach, took a speed boat back and stopped many yards off shore in a natural pool. It was awesome.

We also went to Saona Island, through Dressel Divers snorkeling. It was less than $100 pp if you booked ahead of time (or you can book through your hotel but it will be more). Included a full day excersion, snorkel gear, a really good lunch, beer and soda, 2 snokrleing stops, and a stop at the natural pool. It was really tiring but really fun!
