Where are you staying? The Ritz Carlton there is fabulous. FI took me there about 5 years ago when we first started dating. We were there for 5 days and had a scooter rented the entire time. I LOVED the scooter. The island is super small so we were able to scoot around and see the entire thing. It's really beautiful and being on our own scooter, we were able to pull on the side of the road whenever we wanted to snap pictures of the beautiful trees, flowers and animals. (FYI they drive on the left hand side there...it took some getting used to). Theres shopping in Georgetown, but it's super touristy as this is where the port is for cruise ships to dock. Make friends with the locals who work at your resort and they will tell you about the cool places to go at night. Have fun! You will have a great time!

We were just there in August for eight nights and had an amazing time! We rented a car which was perfect for seeing all of the areas. We felt completely safe the entire time, nobody tried pushing their wares on us like other islands, and you definitely made a good choice!
Things to do: Definitely do a boat charter out to stingray city and take one that goes snorkeling out there as well (we used sunray tours). There are several gorgeous places for snorkeling all over the island - we spent much of our time swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. The Botanic Gardens are perfect for seeing the blue iguanas, orchids and lots of local flora. Hell is sort of a mandatory touristy spot but only takes a few minutes. The Blow Holes on the eastern side are neat to see if you're driving by, as is the Wreck of the Ten Sail. Buy fruit at the fruit stands on the side of the road, they let us taste all sorts of things I've never seen in the states, and the mangos there are infinitely better than anything from the grocery stores. CayBrew - the only brewery on the island, they have free tours and love giving free samples and lots of them.
Restaurants: Hemingway's - upscale, delicious dinner Dolce Vita - Italian, overlooks the water, amazing food The Lighthouse - great food - upscale Tukka - Australian flare to the food, on the water Tim Buk Tu - good for a laid back local lunch Over the Edge - great food, much lower prices, local cuisine
If you have any questions let me know!
