Fall vs. Winter--help!

I have always wanted a fall wedding because it is my favorite season. However, I am going to be a teacher and will not be able to get time off for my honeymoon in October (or take a vacation for our anniversary in years to come). I am about to put down deposits and don't know if I should stick to the October 2nd, 2010 date, or just get married in December when I will be able to get time off. Any advice????

You can always get married in October and delay your honeymoon.  After you get married, take a weekend away somewhere as a mini-moon, but save the big one for later.

If you trully care about the season you want to get married go for it...like people said you can always take a honeymoon later and plan anniversary trips for a few months after the date...no biggie! If it is more important to do the other things, take vacations on your aniversary or go on your honeymoon right away then wait to December...or maybe summer time since there is 3 months off there.

I agree, just get married when you have always wanted to. A honeymoon can be planned a couple months later.

We had our wedding in summer for this exact reason.

I'm a fan of getting married in Oct and then having your honeymoon while you're on winter break.  The main reason being that December weddings are expensive--the venues all jack up their price because you are competing with company holiday parties that usually have way larger of a budget than weddings do.

We are getting married in November and aren't going on our honeymoon til January. There is nothing wrong with delaying it.. plus it gives you time to unwind and plan out better for the honeymoon trip!

My brother & SIL were both teachers and got married in December. They went to Paris & London the following summer once school was out.

It might not be totally impossible to have your October wedding and honeymoon right after.  I am a teacher as well, and depending on your district you may be able to back personal days up to a holiday in order to have enough time to honeymoon.  Just a suggestion if you really wanted to get married in October & honeymoon right away.  :)

I vote for delaying your HM.  We waited a month before we left and I'm so glad we did.  We were able to really enjoy our HM where right after the wedding we were so exhausted we would have missed the first few days completely.
