Hey! My name is Lindsey and I am brand new to the knot. I am so excited to be here and to start planning my wedding!

My finance, Carl, and I got engaged on 12/23/2011. We have been dating for 3 years. Christmas time has always been special to us, so he knew it would be the perfect time to propose! My fiance and my family were all in on the big surprise. The night of the engagement my mom told me that she had tickets for my family to go see a neat ice show downtown. My fiance was "out of town visiting family". I was very sad because I knew I would not be able to see him for a couple of weeks. We headed out the door that evening.

My mom thought it would be nice to look at Christmas lights before we drove downtown, so Christmas light looking we went. After a couple of neighborhoods, my mom announced that she had forgotten our tickets at home and that we needed to go back home real quick. We drove back through the neighborhoods until we approached our own. As we turned down my street, there it was: a huge painted board reading "Lindsey, Will You Marry Me?" lite up in Christmas lights! It was so beautiful and such a fun idea! Neighbors were standing outside waiting for my arrival. I immediately starting crying, and couldn't have been more excited! We celebrated the rest of that evening.

As far as our wedding date goes, we are still unsure. We are thinking about summer 2013. It really is dependent upon when he finishes school. We really want to make sure he will have time to find a job. Plus I will be starting graduate school in the fall, and would like to have at least a year of that under my belt. So we will see!
