My FI proposed to me without a ring, smartly stating that he wouldn't have a clue where to start because I have 'weird' tastes. Probably a good thing, because I hate diamonds. After 8 months of looking at diamond rings, I happened upon this picture of a sterling silver ring on ebay, and fell madly in love

So, we had it custom made. It wound up being cheaper than three of the four other rings I liked, despite being gigantic. Yay for personalized awesomeness at low cost! ♥

It's really hard to get a good picture of my ring bc my camera sucks! but it's a 3 stone emerald cut with channel set baguettes on the sides :) when we first went "ring shopping" I was picking out simpler rings that had just one center emerald cut stone. Becuase im in school to be a nurse I wanted somthing that wouldnt be scratching my patients! but I saw this ring and put it on and fell in love <3 I ended up picking out 4 that I liked and he surprised me by picking out this one!

it a princess cut with 4 diamonds on top and 3 diamonds going down each side... it might look big but i just sits high. My FI picked it out by himself it is truly the most beautiful ring i have ever seen...<3

I originally had picked out a different ring from Zales but by the time my FH went to actually look at it, it basically disappeared off the face of jewelry world! So he had told me we were going to go to the mall and look around and see if i find anything else i liked..as soon as i saw my ring i knew this was the one! he said my face lit up like it was christmas morning lol im newly engaged ( a week on saturday! ) and im still on cloud nine! gah! love him <3

FI and I picked out my ring together...a gorgeous 1.5 ct round solitaire ring, with a beautiful wrap around. However, when we went to look at wedding bands for my ring, nothing worked because of the way the wrap was. My jeweler had a "re-setting" event, so they took my solitaire diamond and put it into this setting, which had a matching wedding band. I love it!

My FI didn't want to get a diamond so I sent him a bunch of photos of saphire rings I liked. Lucky for me his sister is a jewelry designer so she had this one made for me. Its perfect for me.

My engagement ring! 2 carat asscher-cut. He knew the style that I liked, and had been working with an estate jeweler. He got the center stone off of an estate piece and had it set in a conflict-free setting :)

Princess cut center stone with small round channel set diamonds along the top on either side of the center stone and on both sides of the gallery. I love the antique look! I picked out the ring myself and then showed it to my FI.

I was completely surprised by my ring and proposal. I had no idea what I wanted in a ring other than platinum and something totally unique. My FH got it totally right - he designed the ring himself and worked with a jeweler friend to create the ring. It is platinum set with 71 white diamonds, 41 green diamonds, and 3 larger white marquis diamonds - the leaf design goes all the way around with no part really being the front. The only problem is he had it made 3 sizes too big! Fortunately the jeweler was able to size it down for me :)

I love how all of these rings are beautiful and unique - no two are alike - and mine is no exception. My ring has round diamonds in the shape of a flower and I have yet to see anyone else with something that looks like it. Let's be proud of our "non-traditional" rings, ladies! Pictures of my ring are below. I love it so much! It absolutely sparkles in the sun.

My fiance proposed on the beach. He knows how much I LOVE the beach and he proposed right on the shore with this gorgeous ring! Its a cushion cut, 41 diamonds, 1.8 carats. I couldn't have picked a better ring (literally, when we went to get it resized I would have chosen it over any of the others I saw there!).

My FI and I chose the 1 ct center stone and setting separately and thank goodness it worked! I love the sapphires on either side....not something you see everyday. Now to find a wedding band/enhancer to fit with it!

Fiance had it custom made from USAA. I had no clue they had a jeweler...or that they even did things like that. It's .55 carat emerald cut, VS1 clarity. Basically he kept taking me to jewelers to look at rings and then got an idea of what I liked. Here are 2 pics.

We are recently engaged (May 10). We had broken up for like 2 months back in August and when we got back together he dug right in. He started talking about getting married and sending me emails with pictures of rings and dresses and cakes and everything! He took me to a few stores and I fell in LOVE with this ring. I compared every other ring to it. A few weeks later I went to the store to show my mom and it was GONE! I was so disappointed. Only to find out 6 months later that HE actually bought it and had been holding onto it this whole time! Silly boy. But I definately am still in love with it and I keep oogling my hand. :]

It's the engagement/wedding ring set but the center stone in mine is a kite set princess stone. :]

The diamond itself is from his mothers old ring, she had a beautiful set but it just wasn't for me, we took it to a restyle event where a friend of ours works and she already had a setting picked out for us when we went, I tried on others but this one was the first i tried on adn the one i kept coming back to. The two pear cuts around it just draw to it. It catches light from every angle and just looks so different from everyone elses i've seen (at least around my area) Everyone has commented on it, its so huge but its not bulky since my hands are so tiny it looks just perfect! its just slightly under 2 karats.

he picked it out himself, with the help of his friend. It's perfect for me! short fingers go well with smaller bands so he did a great job, couldnt have asked for a better one. It's a 1.26 ct round cut with 2 (we think 1/8 ct) on each side.

We got engaged on May 9. He took me to the beach by my parent's house where he knows that I spent a lot of time as a child. I turned my back to pick up a rock to skip across the water and when I turned back my FI was on one knee in the sand asking me to marry him :)

This is my ring. We went ring shopping together and I picked out a few favourites, but this was my favourite. It is truly my dream ring. The center stone is 1.07 carat, and there 52 diamonds total going down the side of the band.

He picked it out (all by himself!) from the promise ring section at Kay's. I love how unique it was - and because it wasn't an "engagement ring," it was much cheaper.

He went to the same jeweler that his family has used for years and had this ring made for me. It was really important for him to make sure that they used Canadian non-conflict diamonds. The center stone is a Polar Diamond and has a serial number and polar bear laser inscribed on the side.

I love the fact that he did it all on his own - I was very surprised!
