I am having an outdoor wedding in June 2013. I am a huge fan of TOMS. I don't know if any of ya'll are familar with them so I'll explain. TOMS are little cloth-like shoes that are simple but cute. With each pair of shoes you buy, a child in need gets a pair too. I think it is a great cause. Since they actually have wedding styles, I am considering wearing these at my wedding. What do ya'll think? No one will actually seem them anyway because my dress will be long.

You can see more options at www.toms.com
Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to sell them to ya'll. I'm not in anyway (although it is a great cause).

That's cute, although I think I'll be wearing heels, as my FI is quite literally a foot taller than I am.

Those shoes do not go with a formal bridal gown.  And people do see your shoes.

There's no rule about what shoes you wear.  If you want to wear TOMS, then wear TOMS.  There's been a few brides on TK that have worn them for their wedding, so you definitely wouldn't be the first one.

That being said, they are NMS at all, so I wouldn't wear them personally, but to each his own.

I see nothing wrong with it. My daughter had a short black dress as my MOH when we married in August. She wore sparkly black TOMS, and no one said a word.... and you could see her shoes, LOL.

I definitely think you should wear them! I'm planning on wearing hot pink Converse with my dress. Do what makes you comfortable! I love my Toms and would wear them if I didn't already plan on the Converses :)

Actually no. I intend on wearing a longer style of a gown. Like a ball gown. Its not like i'm going to be wearing a short dress where my feet are out in the open. Yeah people will see my feet, but not much. And I don't really care if they go with it or not. I'm not a high heel wearin kind of girl. I prefer my boots, flip flops, or my toms.

Have you checked out their line of ballet flats? They'd still be crazy comfy but they would maybe be slightly dressier.

That being said, I'm wearing a pair of custom Converses for our reception ;p

I say whatever you want! Do you have experience with TOMS? They fall apart quickly so I would only wear them inside or on flat dry terrain on your wedding day. I am wearing cowboy boots with my dress. So much more comfortable than heels!

ETA: Just noticed this is in the outdoor board! Must be past my bedtime.

I own several pairs of TOMS and I wear them frequently. None of mine have ever tore up yet. The soles are getting thin on like one pair of them but other than that mine are in great shape. I think I shall wear them.

I say do what you want.  I'm going to wear heels for the ceremony and then change into customized Converse for the reception.  I love them, I'm even having my new last name put on them and they'll be in our wedding colors.  I figure its your wedding do what you want.

Thanks everybody! I'm going to wear them!

Brookerich that is a really good idea. I never thought about wearing them in the wedding colors. lol i was just going to wear white, but that idea is great. Since TOMS come in so many different colors, I can easily find them to match my theme! Thanks!

I've loved the idea of Toms for weddings since I first came upon it. However, I feel that you should wear a more formal shoe under your dress, even if they cannot be seen. I know personally, I am going to be wearing formal for my ceremony and then change into a shorter, more casual dress and shoes for my reception.

I have a quick question.. are they comfortable?

I am glad I stumbled across this post because I have been searching for a wedge comfy shoe (to wear during the reception if my heels start killing my feet)  that isn't some form of platform flip flop. I notice that TOMS has wedges in their wedding collection!!!!

I think Toms are crazy ugly. That being said, my friend and her whole bridal party wore the sparkly ones, and I didn't mind it. She said they were really comfortable

I was planning on wearing Cowboy Boots or TOMS for my wedding but I had very specific ideas about boots and couldn't find them so I purchased TOMS for my wedding.  I love that I am not being selfish in costly shoes that are super budget friendly and that I'm purchasing shoes not only for myself but I am helping a child in need get a pair of shoes!

I absolutely hate high heels,  which can be a bad idea for an outdoor wedding anyway (can you imagine snagging in the isle runner or tripping because your heel sinks into the ground?), plus my fiance isn't that much taller than me.  I am super excited about wearing TOMS now and I will actually wear these shoes after the wedding.  I purchased the Bridal White Glitters, they look better in person than how the website pictures them.

I'm actually wearing Toms wedges under my dress for our wedding. I wanted something comfortable but a little height. I got them in the other day and absolutely love them! My daughter will be wearing ivory Toms with her dress, as well.

Do it! Smile
