I'm not getting married until 10/05/2013, but i'm trying to get as much reception stuff bought as possible now! But i need help with the reception. I would like my girls to wear pink and chocolate. And the guys will have the black tux with the camo vest. I'm having a hard time figuring out decor and things, especially favors with the camo theme. I'm really big on DIY items because i'd like to stay inexpensive!

If you are trying to cut costs, then cut the favors out all together. They are not necessary and no one will miss them.

I would stay subtle with the camo theme -- you don't want your wedding to look like a hunting convention. The groomsman will already be in camo vests, so that's pretty good. You could maybe have a camo-themed grooms cake. Or have the escort cards have a camo print on them (a light one).

If your willing to spend a little extra money, you can get M&Ms in special colors and you could do hunter green, sage green, tan and brown. And just give little bags of M&Ms. I would do food favors, especially if they're going to be camo themed. I generally don't use trinkets from weddings and would especially get rid of it if it was camo (and I'm from souther Missouri!). Your centerpieces could be very woodsy with maybe a touch of camo ribbon or fabric.

Skip the favors if you are on a budget.

As for the camo theme, keep it light. Most themes are good in moderation. If you are doing the vests other touches might be escort cards, cake topper, or ribbons on bouquets.

am also doing camo! I wanted to have a camo dress but im afraid i can't afford it. On a budget! So my plan is to wear a short white lace dress w/ my brown cowboy boots and a camo and white feather hairclips. our cake is part cake(top layer for hubby and I) and cupcake for other 3-4 layers.
Top layer - Smores
Layer 2 - Chocolate w/ almond butter cream filling and caramel icing.
Layer 3- Chocolate cake w/ banana cream filling and peanutbutter icing.
Layer 4 - Chocolate cake w/ espresso& dark chocolate filling and vanilla espresso flavored icing.

The shocker here is.... OUR CAKE IS GONNA BE CAMO ALSO. I am super excited.
Most of our reception decorations will have camo in them in some ways, Like Camo backing on the table number cards. The candy bar is gonna have a mix of greens and brown and pink and brown and green candies. I am thinking but not completly sold on the idea of making camo and white bows ( for the outside,inside, pews, and reception tables)

any idea's you would like to share, i'm open. Thanks yall!

These are very easy to make and you can customize the colors to be camo colors im having a rustic country wedding and me and my future hubby are doing a hunting themed reception also. We are ffom souther illinois so we love whitetail deer. so were going to use their sheds as table decorations to go with the theme. also we are using wood for like everything!!! because we can cut it all and dont have to spend money on the decorations. ill send you some more pictures to show you what we are doing!!! hope this will help you!!!

I am getting married on 6/16/12 and it has been really hard to find camo stuff for a half desent price. We are making alot of our stuff. For the centerpeices we went out and got small pieces of firewood and drilled a hole in the middle to put a tealight candle and we are putting it on a plat with some gravel and a grapevine heart.
