Hello! Are you decorating the ceiling at your reception? What ideas do you have, how are you doing it, what are you using, etc? I love the strings of lights, but is that expensive? My centerpieces will be potted tulips, and votive candles around it. I'm stumped on what would go well for ceiling decor, or if I need to do anything. It is just your typical celing, not fancy architecture. Any suggestions?

I didn't do any ceiling decor, I focused on the tables....so I guess I can't help out much.
I would suggest, however, speaking with your venue, they have limitations on certain things you can do.

If your venue allows it you can hang paper lanterns from the ceiling. I love the way that looks in pictures when the guests are dancing o nthe dance floor. You can also get fabric and drape it on the ceiling and walls. Talk to your florist and see what they can do.

We are decorating the ceiling of our reception space because it's an outdoor tent. The venue already has white material draped and a few white lanterns but we're planning on adding a few more lanterns in our wedding colors just to liven up all the white.
I would definitely talk to your venue first to see what kind of ceiling decorations they allow. Then figure out what kind of feel you want your reception space to have because that will affect what kind of decorations you have. Talk to your florist and google ideas to help get some of your own ideas and then go from there. Good luck!!

I've heard that the best thing is the plastic table coverings that come in 100 foot rolls. The pics I've seen are AMAZING and the girls have said that it was easy to hang up and tear down.
We will be using this in our room with something in the middle - we're debating on buying a lamp shade at Ikea or making something ourselves, but if the center if where all of the draping meets, we figured we needed something there.
I also saw someone use a parachute with lights. GORGEOUS.....but good luck finding a big enough parachute to cover it! I agree, google or pinterest have great ideas!

I'm making yarn balls and hanging several over the dance floor at various sizes and heights. We're getting married at an Art Center though so it fits with the look. Have you seen photos of people using upside down umbrellas, like this? I think it looks great, but only in the right venue.
