Hummingbird

My grandmother passed away a few years ago. She loved hummingbirds and had her house decorated with them! My family and I (this isn't a surprise and it won't upset anyone) thought it would be fun to include some small hummingbird design  into the bouquet, centerpieces, or some other element. Do you guys have any ideas?

Re: Hummingbird

  • If you want a hummingbird themed wedding I think it would be cute to have some in the centerpieces and bouquet.  The invitations could have a hummingbird on them, programs, cake, etc.

But if you don't want a hummingbird themed wedding then I would just do the bouquet.

You could make a note in the program about the humming birds as well.

  • It has kinda become a storybook themed wedding (my FI and I went to a literary college together), so the whimsical feeling would fit.

How would you put it in your bouquet? I'm not sure how those things work.

  • You could buy a hummingbird at Michael's and mount it on a dowel/floral wire so it can be inserted into your bouquet.

Or if your grandmother had a hummingbird brooch you could mount it on wire and use it on your bouquet, or just attach it to the handle.

Unless you are planning a hummingbird themed wedding, I would keep the reference to your grandmother as small and something personal to you, it doesn't need to be advertised to the whole world.
  • This was on etsy:

Maybe you can get a little hummybird from a local craft store and put a thin metal wire into it.
