My fiancee and I are having a  reception on a Sunday afternoon, we aren't really dancers, so we've opted for no dance floor and plugging our ipod into the speaker system for background music.  Now my fear is that one the brunch is over people will start leaving.  Any ideas on how to prevent people from leaving after eating without dancing?  I've been having awful nightmares about having the most boring wedding of the century

Consider that even though you and FI aren't big dancers, your guest may be.

I think as long as you have good food and good background music you will be fine. However what PP has said is something you should consider.

I think the reality is that if you don't have a dance floor (are you having a bar?) then the reception will be shorter than one with dancing.  Also, afternoon receptions tend to be shorter because people head out for dinner or to get home at a reasonable hour before work on Mondays.

I would just make sure you have good food and good music and let the rest play out as it will.

are your guests dancers? the reception is for the guests, not the B&G, so while you may not be dancers your guests may be and may want to dance.
