Typewriter guestbook, how to?

How do you go about having a typerwriter guestbook? I like the idea but I dont know exactly how it works

My understanding is that you get an old typewriter, and whatever paper you want to use.  As guests "sign" the guestbook they would put a piece of paper in the typewriter, type you a note and then put it in a book/binder.
  • I'll be honest:  I don't think this sounds like a good idea.  Have you typed on a typewriter?  It takes forever just to get the paper  aligned the way you want it, and then to actually type without making mistakes is awful.  I can see this being the source of a lot of confusion and frustration for guests, so I would maybe make a guestbook that is typewriter-themed, but where they don't have to actually use a typewriter to sign in.
  • The only way I can imagine this working is if you somehow had a giant roll of paper going through rather than individual sheets and people just continued typing on the same sheet.

But I bet a lot of people skip the guest book because they just don't want to bother with typing.
  • I don't get the point of this at all.
  • Honestly it's sounds like a huge PIA.

  • Another vote for this sounds like a bad idea.
