Hello.  My favorite color is red, so of course i wanted red and black as my wedding colors.  Unfortunately I'm a bride on a budget so the venue I picked has burgundy carpets, beige or cream curtains, it's a very soft room so I'm scared that my bold red and black will clash.  I was thinking about changing my colors but I don't really want to. Any suggestions?

Once everything is set up, I don't think the burgundy carpet will be noticable, so you'll be left with red, black and cream, which doesn't clash, in my opinion.

I never thought about the cream.  Red,black and cream does sound good.  That's perfect maybe I'll just incorporate cream into the centerpieces.

My venue had burgandy carpet and gold linens and curtains and I considered black/red/ivory.  I didn't end up doing it but, I think it would have looked great.  Don't worry about the carpet, no one will notice.

You make an excellent point.

I couldn't even tell you what color my venue's carpet was.

Agree!!

I had originally picked out Choc Brown and a lgt golden color and accent with reds/oranges for flowers until....we went for tuxes! Ummm lets just say he wasnt about his "brown" choices for the guys :) Now our colors are Pewter, light pink and black!

He doesn't care.  He just wants to know how much, the time and date.

I agree with the PPs who said that no one will notice the carpet color.

Red, black, and cream sounds gorgeous!

for my 1st wedding, my colors were burgundy and mauve ..... the church had bright red carpeting and I was a mess over what it would look like in my picutres..... it actually didnt look all that bad and no one really notices that type of stuff besides the one planning and nitpicking over all the details.  Don't stress... most reception halls have capreting that doesnt mat anyones style, colors, theme or taste.  It will be perfect, if you relax a bit and don't sweat things that are out of your control.  Good luck =)

Is there going to be a lot of exposed carpet or are the tables and dance floor going to take up most of the floor space?  Is there a crazy pattern in the carpet or is it solid?  I would think if most of the floor will be covered and there isn't a crazy pattern then I wouldn't worry about the color of the carpet.  If the pattern is wild or if there is a lot of exposed places I would think about different colors.  I do notice things like that and I believe in pictures it would be even more obvious.

Thank you.  It's so crazy I've been a bridesmaid three times and I always thought I'd be so calm in comparison.  WRONG lol.
