Re: amazon.com?

  • we did this after getting rid of our target registry. one of the items (a spice rack) we were not thrilled with and sent back even though it was discontinued and no longer for sale- basically, we got great customer service. A few of our cookbooks have been purchased too. I think its a great idea to register at a place where he can get drills and you can get china ;)
  • I thought Amazon and Target were the same company?  Am I on crack?  That's the only thing that would worry me.Otherwise, I think it's a great idea so long as 1) you have a physical store and 2) you register for things for your home or that you would use together, not random things like his video games or your textbooks.
  • We registered at amazon.com and loved it.  Most of our friends purchased from that registry while our families mostly purchased gifts from our Macy's registry.  I think amazon is a great place to register if you have guests all over the country or if you already have most of the usual registry stuff.  We mainly registered for books!  :)
  • thank you for the replies. i have no idea about target and amazon being the same company. i will definitely register at another store.
  • Not sure if they are the same store but I know they are in some sort of joint venture if you will--ie, target sells some of their items via amazon just as any other distributor/store that sells shoes, jewelry, etc on AMazon
  • You did know that macy's stuff can be bought on amazon.com. We used them for our registry it was great.  Could get target items with an easier return policy.
  • I love the Amazon registry!  They have a "universal registry" feature that allows you to add an item from any online site, not just Amazon, to your registry.  In addition, Target sells a lot of its items via a joint venture with Amazon.  Thus, we were able to give our guests one site for our registry, and still include items from Target, Home Depot, and BBB.
