How far in advance should you register for your Bridal shower? I am having one in May and one in July.  My wedding is August 11th of this year. Thanks!!

I think March or April is fine.  You can register now if you want, but realize that people probably won't even look at them until shower invitations go out.   Generally the earlier you register, the more you run the risk of things going out of stock or being discontinued, but I think that February is fine for an August wedding.

Have fun!

I'd go ahead and do it.  I'm going to a wedding in May and I keep looking for the couples registry every time various stores run good sales and they still haven't done it.  No not many people will shop as early as I like to, but a few will and it's nice to give your guests enough leeway to wait for sales.  A couple things might be discontinued but not much at this point.

I registered very far in advance, and I only had a lot of items be discontiuned at Macys. Most of my items from target and BBB are still on there. But yeah, no one will probably look at them until April-ish.

I would do it no later than April 1, or have them finished by the time bridal shower invitations go out, whichever comes first.

We registered in November for our July wedding.  Our families wanted to buy our Christmas presents off of it.

Register at least a month before your first shower.

There are no rules for when to register, although you may wish to register for open-stock items so things won't get discontinued.

It took a lot longer to register than I thought it would. I definitely suggest doing it while you have time (both in the sense of free time and a good buffer between the wedding). That way there won't be too much pressure, and if it takes twice as long you won't start to panic.
