My future in-laws are bigots. I do not say this lightly. They do not like any minorities. They don't like poor people, anyone who isn't white, non-Christians, and, of course, gay people. Now, they've never ever been to a Chik-Fil-A ever, but suddenly they're all into it. FI tried talking to them to figure out why, and they said, in their typical side-stepping way, that it's because of their stance on gay marriage. Now, I could respect them if it was because they supported free speech, but nope. Just because they hate gay people. FI pointed out they've never even been to a Chik-Fil-A, so FFIL decides to go out and buy a ton of it.

Well, last night. both FMIL and FFIL got explosive diarrhea and projectile vomiting fom the Chik-Fil-A.

    While I didn't necessarily need the visual, that's pretty funny and kind of serves them right. I have no problem with people eating at Chik-fil-a if they like the food, but to eat there for the first time specifically because you hate gay marriage is pretty ridiculous.

    This makes me happy/sad.  Explosive diarrhea is ALWAYS hilarious, especially when it's for karmic retribution, but bigots are sad.  Sorry to hear about your in-law situation.  My advice, make it clear that you disagree with their beliefs and won't listen to any hateful/bigoted talk, but that you love them anyway and want to have a relationship.  There is nothing more effective than putting your foot down about negativity and NOT allowing it to be discussed around you.  BUT, it's tough. :/

     Today I ordered a chicken biscuit sandwich from a local brunch spot.  It was served to me by a gay friend who works there.  He asked me how my "gay-fil-a" was.  I told him it was delicious because it wasn't tainted with bigotry.  The sausage gravy he dumped all over it probably helped too.  Though I'm likely  to eat nothing but fruits and veggies for the next week,  but damn it was delicious.
